I expect the Bob Seger song to be Against the Wind. The segment of the GAC show that was talking about the box set included a clip of him singing that song.

Jennifer Nettles looks really pretty in that photo, but I'm not liking the treatment they gave it for the cover. Something about it isn't quite as pleasing to me, as, oh say, the cover of 100 Proof (which features a similar glamour shot). I love her voice and I used to be a big Sugarland fan (mainly the first two records), but her recent material w/ Sugarland and "That Girl" don't have me very hopeful for this record. I'd love at this point to be pleasantly surprised though.

Since she's been the topic in a couple other threads in the last day or so, as it stands now, Kelly Clarkson can be added to the TBD list for next year. In this interview from a last month, she talks just a little about it ( youtube). Said when she was previously approached to make this album, they wanted her to, understandably, go the Miranda or Carrie route. Instead she/they held off to get material that leans more on the soulful side and they finally got a group of songs together like that. She gave Travis Tritt and Trisha as some examples. She's also been saying that they're about 2-3 songs away from finishing it. She's supposedly releasing two albums next year and the impression that I've gotten is that the country one is higher on the list of priorities, I could be completely wrong on that though. Aside from that, it's mostly a mystery. If I had to guess, I'd say the 2-3 songs that they're still looking for would be more on the single/commercial side of the album because I don't think she'd have much of a problem trying to find album tracks that've been kicking it around town in the style she was going after. I also have a feeling based on her past work (not necessarily the released stuff) and the leanings of live performance arrangements that it'll have a "dirty" sound to it, for lack of a better word. It'll probably also be heavily influenced by 90's country. I'm also picturing the current material being more along the lines of TBP stuff rather than Carrie's. I wouldn't look to TIU as being an indication of what any of it would sound like. I write that one off as a one time thing that her friends wrote for her that was cute and timely for her and they needed something at that time for several events that they were doing. However it ends up, I'm looking forward to it because I've been waiting almost 7 years to finally get a full dedicated release here. I'm amazed at the amount of material Kelly has released in a relatively short period of time. She now has released 5 albums + GH + WIR = 7 album releases, and something else but i can't remember what. And now it looks like another one, a Country album is soon to follow. I have been predicting the country album for at least the last 2 years. It was easy really, the signs and preparation for this were really quite blatant. With all the 'baby' talk maybe she's planning on a hiatus soon. Perhaps this is intended to keep Kelly visible (in an auditory way) in case her wish for pregnancy occurs and also help her US sales catch up with Carrie Underwood's US sales. I noticed that even with the 7 releases she is still more than 2M behind.. But if she continues with this pace and Underwood (4 albums) takes her time to release new music, Kelly just might catch up.

Eric Paslay: The Gingerbeard Man.
I LOVE that album cover! I'm a little disappointed that they left "If The Fish Don't Bite" off the final tracklist, but I understand why they did it. Oh well...I downloaded that single off Amazon anyway. I love seeing all the talented writers that Eric worked with. I'm very interested in hearing this project :)

^The order of the discs seems random, but the content of each disc looks right to me. In particular, the track lists for the new discs (classic country, classic rock, blue-eyed soul, and melting pot) matches perfectly with the track lists from the Wikipedia page that countryhistorian linked to a few days ago.

From listening to the iTunes previews of the FGL deluxe album, here's what I gather (all my opinion of course):
"This is How We Roll" is much, much better than I expected.
"Headphones" was decent but not as good as I thought it would be.
"People Back Home" is outstanding, rap or not.
"Hands on You" is pretty good.
"Take it Out On Me" was the weakest of the 5.
Though these can change after listening in whole.
