^ Thanks for sharing! Glad we have a confirmed title and release date now. I am so excited for the new record. These collaborations have me especially excited -- it's great that she's working with Vince Gill again, and I can't wait to hear her take on "Not Over You." Speaking of which... “It was completely written for me, even though Gavin wrote it for himself and forgot to let me record it the first time around. I was like, ‘I’ve got to record that. It’s so me.’ I lol'd. Sara Evans has such a great sense of humor. That sentence is just so her. www.countryweekly.com/news/dolly-parton-release-new-album-blue-smoke-2014Dolly Parton to Release New Album “Blue Smoke” in 2014 New album will coincide with her newly announced Blue Smoke World Tour in 2014. To coincide with her newly announced Blue Smoke World Tour in 2014, Dolly Parton will also release a new album titled Blue Smoke in 2014. The singer’s indie label, Dolly Records, partnered with Sony Masterworks for the project, which will initially be released in New Zealand and Australia on Jan. 31. Dolly fans in other parts of the world will also have their chance to get their hands on the new music when the album’s United States and European release takes place in May. “We at Masterworks think that Blue Smoke sits with Dolly Parton’s very best recorded work, as global audiences will discover when she begins her world tour in January 2014,” says president of Sony Masterworks Bogdan Roscic. Dolly’s Blue Smoke World Tour will have the iconic singer/songwriter appearing throughout England, Ireland, Scotland, Denmark, Germany, Norway and Sweden. Visit dollyparton.com for a full list of confirmed dates. So Jan 21 for Australia/NZ and May for the US! Looks like I'll be ordering mine from Australia!

Sara Evans also was on the GAC playlist today, and said that the Vince Gill song is the most country song she has ever done. However, the rest of the album will be country-pop. She also has the same producer from her Real Fine Place album. Sara also discussed that the Slow Me Down video is meant as a prequel to A Little Bit Stronger video.

I think I read it somewhere, maybe it was here on Pulse, that Better Off is the song Lee Ann Womack recorded for her never released album Finding My Way Back Home. Am I crazy or there were some talk about it?

^Expect more of these kind of CDs from Johnny Cash. I just read it somewhere yesterday that there are a ton of recordings that did NOT get tossed. I know Cash was not popular during the 1980s during his stay at Columbia, but they should have released this one while he was alive (and with them).

There is a song Better Off on LAW's unreleased album. I don't know if I think it sounds any more country than songs on Three Chords and The Truth though.

5) "Blackberry Winter" - Written by Anderson, Rod Crosby This song is actually co-written by Rob Crosby, who co-wrote Eric Paslay's Friday Night among other songs. He had four Top 40 singles as a singer in the early 1990s.

I have a unique last name myself and I hate when people spell it wrong. Speaking of that song. I have not heard the album yet, but that track "Blackberry Winter" sounds interesting. Cool title to say the least.

What Curb is doing with Tim McGraw is similar to what Liberty did with Kenny Rogers when he left for RCA. Liberty continued releasing compilation albums (I remember a greatest hits album, a duets album, and an album of previously unreleased songs). They also released singles from those albums, although they did no better than Top 20 while his new RCA singles were regularly hitting the Top 10 or higher.

"Drunk Last Night" is still more than 20 million away from #1. It's gaining very well, sure, but I don't see it topping the chart by Christmas. The charts will start to slow down by mid-December anyway, and they won't really pick up again until the second week of January. So, I see DLN peaking mid/late January at the earliest. That gives them plenty of time to ready an album release for February/March. Told you so. ;) Completley ment to be lighthearted of course :). I just had a feeling "Drunk Last Night" would go #1 on Mediabase by Christmas. So I fully expect a second single before Republic releases the album.

Yeah, "Drunk Last Night" really stormed up the chart over the last 4 weeks or so, but the main way by which I went wrong was that I expected the #1 song to still have 46+ million like it's had since mid-summer. But the last few #1's have posted dramatically lower audience numbers in just these last few weeks. Good for you though, on that prediction! :)
I am still hoping that the EYB announces an album for February or March...they've been talking about new music forever, and I know they initially said they wanted to have the album out while they were still on tour with Chesney. Well, that was way back during the summer when "Say Goodnight" was on the chart. Now they've scored a big hit, but still no concrete news...hmph.

^ I have been hearing about this new album from them since Easter! I can't believe we have not had an album release date yet. I have said before I hate the act of putting out that second single before releasing the album, but to not have a date yet is making me impatient. I understand they are part of the beast that is Big Machine Label Group, and Scott Borchetta has done this before (Greg Bates, Sunny Sweeny, even The Band Perry putting out "Done" three weeks before Pioneer). So I fully understand the logic of it from a business sense, but I truly think it's unneccasary. It stinks to cause I love their albums going all the way back to "Level". so I wanted to purchase it before Christmas. :'(

The tracklisting for Blue Smoke looks great! Nice to see "You Can't Make Old Friends" making an appearance on her album as well. It's too bad we have to wait three months longer than Oceania to get the record though.
