Supposed second single from The 20/20 Experience. Now on iTunes.
I'm underwhelmed. It sounds like a leftover from FutureSex/LoveSounds. It's especially similar to "What Goes Around...Comes Around".

Not bad but would much prefer the 2 other songs he has performed recently but people wanted something more pop'ish so here ya go......it goes on way too long.

This is a big improvement over "Suit & Tie" in level of quality imo. The problem? It's about five years late to the party. I can listen to it & enjoy it but it feels like I'm throwing it back to summer 2006 rather than bumping to something new.
I think any artist's quickest ticket to a decline in status is rehashing previous hits several years late and expecting the same result. Justin just may end up suffering from that syndrome.

I'm going to quote what I said initially in the album thread because it pretty much sums up my opinion on the song. I like the "you are, you are the love of my life" chant that happens as the coda at the end of the song and the corresponding music box toy tinkering that happens. I think that part is magical. It really is quite charming and disarmingly innocent which took me back on initial listen. It's kind of teeny bopperish with a doo-wop sound I could see Nsync singing. But the main song leaves a lot to be desired, and it kind of aggravates me how long the song is because it goes nowhere before the interlude/breakdown hits. I think had they better mined the sound they had during the interlude/coda this could have been a nice sweet love song in the vein of My Love, but instead it kind of waffles in mediocrity and it just sounds unfulfilled, as if it never became what it was supposed to be. That being said I think this is miles better than Suit and it should have an easier time sustaining Top 40's interest than Suit has. The only thing I am kind of concerned about is that Top 40 might be burned a bit from Tie that they may be hesitant to instantly add this and won't give it a chance because he spent all his good will on a single that was clearly not a match for the format. Also it's way too long.

"What Goes Around...Comes Around" was about the same length. The radio version was significantly shortened. If this is a single, they'll be editing it for radio.

It's not bad. I think it's more CMAR than WGACA.
Edit: Yeah, nevermind, this is really good. I especially like it when it DOESN'T have the CMAR beat (it goes into the Halo beat a while before the last chorus, and I like the beat for the beat at the end a lot, too...really nice melody. Pop will jump on this FAST.
Still, I like PLG better.

I don't hear CMAR or WGACA in this, which makes me think I am the odd man out here. In terms of production I feel this is a closer comparison to LoveStoned (I Think She Knows). But I also hear a mesh of other songs on Justified just with LoveStoned's background. I hear bits and pieces from Let's Take A Ride, Take It From Here and Last Night for instance and all of those songs are from Justified. I think this is just core Justin through out.

I definitely hear the "I Think That She Knows" melody in the hook....not quite as pretty. The lyrics in the verses are stupid. And you're spot on about NSync. He needs the other guy to sing the hook, haha.

I like this, but I echo the sentiments that this sounds similar to "What Goes Around...". It feels more like an album track than a single. "Pusher Love Girl" is a much stronger choice as the next single.

I think this is just a teaser to calm the fans who aren't sold on his new sound... LOVE it though

Now THIS is a hit song. Is it as innovative as anything from FS/LS was at the time? No. But it is so much better than anything else I have heard from this project.

I really like it. It is definitely more CMAR than WGA. I'm not hearing the latter at all, the only thing similar is length. WGA was also a million times better.

This clearly sounds like a rehash, but I actually like it unlike "Suit & Tie". I can't see it becoming a hit though.

"Suit & Tie" is SO much better than this. This is clearly a re-hash and I'm sure it will grow on me because it's catchy but I agree that it seems like a track that could have been released in 2006/2007. "Suit & Tie" will always be superior to this.

I don't think "Suit and Tie" is much better. Frankly, I think both songs sound like really good album tracks, one from Justified and one from FS/LS. The killer single is "Pusher Love Girl," but I can't see Pop touching it, so they might as well go with this (for pop).
This just might wind up being one of those really great albums without any big cross-format radio singles.

Not the best thing he's ever recorded, but it's miles ahead of "Suit & Tie."

That was a quick rise!, even though I love the Pusher Love Girl performance and song, if he knew this would be 2nd single he should have sung it Sunday.

I wouldn't be opposed to him sending different singles to Urban and CHR/Pop. I don't see Urban jumping on this, and CHR/Pop isn't going to touch songs like "Pusher Love Girl" and "That Girl".

The ending on the edit Popjustice had posted earlier has a really sloppy ending. It just fades too fast.

All the urban headz on social media sites are all over Pusher Love Girl, I think this would be a smart idea instead of doing some tried urban remix to this song, they should release Pusher Love Girl same time and maximize on them album sales.
