A quick scan of the best sellers on AmazonMP3 shows that over the last few days almost all songs have been moved up to the $1.29 price point. Gone are the $0.50 and $0.99 discounts. Has anyone seen any news about this? Thoughts?

Their $1.99 deals are to DIE for. That's the reason why I bought "Unorthodox Jukebox".

Slowly catching up towards Australia's $2.19 Ew. Why is Australia's so high? That's like $2.29 in US money.

I also use Amazon but it seems like they're 1-2 weeks behind iTunes when it comes to most new releases.

I'm glad you pointed out the $1.29. I noticed that the other day. I doubt the .50 deals are gone. They usually do a "10-pack" of .50 songs every few weeks. The $1.99 and $2.99 CD will still be around - it's a great way for them to build up the cloud since all Amazon Mp3 purchases do NOT count against cloud capacity.

Though I do use iTunes to play my music, I make most of my digital purchases at AmazonMP3. Their sales and special deals are really nice. Their $1.99 deals are to DIE for. That's the reason why I bought "Unorthodox Jukebox". I bought Macklemore & Ryan Lewis album when they had it at that price a few weeks ago. I didn't love every track, but I liked enough of them and it was a great deal. I also use Amazon but it seems like they're 1-2 weeks behind iTunes when it comes to most new releases. For the most part they have the albums at the same times as other stores. Sometimes artists have a 1 week exclusive deal with iTunes or they release it to them 1 week before it actually will be released on CD and to other digital retailers. Considering the deals they do on some recent and current albums, if one can wait just a little, you can save a lot more money when they do it. There are probably some $0.50 ones there still.

Every week a large number of songs get discounted to 59p (the usual price is 99p). I don't know the exact number, but it's a lot more than 10. A couple of songs such as Titanium by David Guetta and Paradise by Coldplay were lucky to get #1 here, as they happened to be discounted the week they got it.
