They should've went full force with it and not just on intial "shock" factor because they let this die within the first 48 hours. The video is sitting at over 120+ million views which seems to imply that it could've been a streaming force if promoted because whether it was liked or disliked those views still counted towards its charting potential. I see Gwen's era all over again with them not having faith in the material and eventually self-sabotaging. Pretty sure most of those streams were with the video on mute. Still counts.

It peaked at #2 during release week and debuted at #34 on the Hot 100 off of streams and downloads alone. They just abandoned it after that.

I like this latest song more than "MilF" which I didn't hate. It was just a little to jarring for me. Life Goes On" kind of has a light tropical feel to it without sounding as though it's trying to hard. Hopefully radio gives it a shot.

I would predict new album will drop in late January? And unlike "This Is What the Truth Feels Like" left over the warm-up singles like "Spark the Fire" and "Baby Don't Lie", both "L.A. Love" and "M.I.L.F." will be included in Fergie's 2nd album.

Following her Dutchess hits that new song would have been a solid top 15 hit. Right now I don't see it doing much unless there's a great video or something. It's better than M.I.L.F.$ at least.

MILF is my jam, it is too good for a regular listener - you have to work a bit to get your MILF!

I think the new song is just...kinda there?
I mean her vocal performance and the production are both on point, and just like MILF$, it maintains a very Fergie-esque sound to me. I get that her label wants to try with another "Big Girls Don't Cry (Personal)" after the "London Bridge/Fergalicious" of this era flopped, but at the same time, I doubt it would really work well for her.

The weird syncopation in the chorus kills any hook, otherwise I think it's a solid effort.

The Duchess stayed on repeat 06 thru 07 but it's just been too long at this point.

She'll be lucky to pull in half of what Gwen did at this point. Sad.

She mentioned the album might come January? From this interview it seems like she's done and it's all the label's doing now -- they definitely don't know how to handle her release (obvious by her and Gwen's rollout). At least we'll get a performance of here new single, and hopefully MILF $ tbh, on Dick Clark's New Years Rockin' Eve!

I still stand by my statement that the label should've went all in with "MILF$" instead of letting it be DOA by the first week. It had so much meme and viral potential. They did nothing for it beyond the initial week and it was a bigger cultural moment than "L.A. Love" which took FOREVER to reach it's minuscule peak.

It reached #5 on downloads and with streaming made it to #35 on the Hot 100. Of course the downloads were due in part to it being viral, but people would not have downloaded it as much if there wasn't some likeability to it. Doubt they would've had a Top 10 BB hit or a radio smash, but it had a chance to be a decent sized hit.

She sounded good on the Today Show, and I think the song had more energy live than the studio version has. I'm just so confused why they went with something the polar opposite of "MILF $". Like, the answer to that infectiously catchy and loud (albeit grating) song not completely taking off was not to release a forgettable album track. There's a happy medium in between the two songs she could have found.

Wow, it's over 2.6 million views. And the video was cute and made me like the song more, especially the cigar-smoking older woman.

She said in some recent interview that she's made 3 videos beyond "MILF $" so I'm guessing the "Life Goes On" video coming out just proves it's nothing more than a buzz single? She looks great though, and it made me like the song more.

They really need to send MILF Money to radio.

They really need to send MILF Money to radio. The time to do that has long passed. It's not like it was some unknown song the public had never heard of. It made a large enough impact upon initial release that sending it to radio now would result in nothing happening. Life Goes On, on the other hand, could be sent, and it really needs to be since it's found its way into the top 50 on hot AC.

No idea she was promoting a new single. There's been zero media coverage at all. Who the fuck is her management? Will.i.Am?
