If you look at the all-time BDS list, BL is the ONLY song NOT released during the massively inflated 2003-2007 era! Plus, all of these songs smashed only on 3 or 4 formats at the same time. None was quite big on HOT AC. Some of them barely charted or did even chart there. Only No One and Irreplaceable did something there. They peaked at around no9-12. BL is smashing on all the formats the rest smashed on, plus on HOT AC! That is why, even WITHOUT massively inflated numbers he broke the record!

This is #1 on 5 different radio formats at the same time, insane!
Love that this is still going on Pop and Rhythmic, lol.

So it probably will officially hit No. 1 at five BDS formats. That slacker AC.

I bet this will see more than a 5% airplay increase on BDS. More like 10-12%! It's just crazy!

Good thing it didn't stay long enough in the AAA top 50 to be part of an official update, or that would've ruined everything

So of course the natural question - when was the last time a song was #1 on pop, urban, urban AC, Hot AC, and RHY at the same time? I don't think there is one! Heck, taking out Urban AC, I don't think I know of a song that was #1 on the other 4 formats at the same time.

I never thought I'd see a song peak @ #1 on both UAC and Hot AC.

Radio probably was tracking it and gave it just enough play to topple the BDS record this week.

Still looks like the overall gains are more than the losses. Thanks especially to the increase in AC. Go AC radio!! Now it's your turn

I think it's safe to say at this point that this will be #1 on the year-end chart of the Hot 100 and probably CHR/Pop too.

This is his greatest week yet. Which is just crazy. Beating Mariah on Mediabase at the beginning of the week, doing album promo during the week, getting his biggest sales week and a #1 album, and then topping it all off with beating Mariah's BDS at the end of the week. I was completely right!! :o

Hmm. I'm kinda wishing this can get dethroned by "Roar" or "Applause" now cuz I'm getting sick of it.

OFFICIAL BILLBOARD ANNOUNCEMENT: “Lines” leads Hot 100 Airplay for a fifth week, and surges 6% to 219.8 million all-format audience impressions, according to Nielsen BDS, a new record for the chart which launched in December 1990. That sum ends the seven-year audience rule of Mariah Carey’s “We Belong Together” which peaked with 212.2 million impressions on the chart dated July 9, 2005.

Billboard also should note that such high totals on Hot 100 Airplay were only possible when it became an all-formats chart in late 1998.

I think it's safe to say at this point that this will be #1 on the year-end chart of the Hot 100 and probably CHR/Pop too. I highly highly doubt it'll pass Locked Out Of Heaven on the Year End Chart due to Bruno Mars huge hug lead, if that happened I'll be baffled. Back in 2005 We Belong Together went to #3 on the Year End Chart. Blurred Lines needs to be played 13,000 times a week for the rest of the year to catch up to Locked Out Of Heaven and 9517 times a week on average to pass Swedish House Mafia which isn't going to happen and that goes the same for Taylor Swift unless it has a stranglehold on #1 until Mid-September.

Oh god, it's like that summer all over again where Black Eyed Peas was #1 forever with 2-3 songs.

It's at the point where i don't think Katy will ever claim #1, nor will Gaga, and even if Gaga does somehow, it will only be for one week before Robin snatches the #1 back again, potentially for a few more weeks before the airplay of Katy and Gaga rises. Thoughts?
