^ yesterdays update was so good? lol Okay, so I take it you want this to drop fast and hard. Why? Anyways, when I check the updates if you have a sad icon=it gained, and a smiley icon= bad update? lol How is anyone going to expect something this massive/record breaking to just 'plummet' like a typical song? That only happens when a song isn't this big (almost a once in a decade or lifetime *multi format* smash). If it just huge on pop and one or two other formats (the norm) that would be the case. Bottom line as much as Id love to see the get the most weeks at #1, it still has 5 weeks (just to tie) and 6 to break it. That's a long time and w/ the gains Katy and Avicii are making I wouldnt be surprised if in that time frame this is out of the top 2. Top 5 def. but Katy and prob. Avicii within 4-5 weeks will be #1 and/ or #2. There's also Eminem coming too right?

It appears the rumors of Robin and Miley performing a Blurred Lines and We Can't Stop mash up were true. These back up dancers who Miley was rehearsing with today made a video saying they're performing with Miley and Robin on the vmas: t.co/5gc4wLF961

If we assume "Love Somebody" has a "normal" amount of spins for a #2 song (and assuming we are talking CHR/Pop here), Avicii is still 10,000 spins away from #2. It would have to gain 2500 spins a week to reach there in 4 weeks, or 2000 spins a week to get there in 5. It's possible for it to reach the +2000 mark, but to sustain for 5 weeks straight is next to impossible. I think this is a shoo-in for the top 5, but maybe in 6-8 weeks. Katy Perry is more likely to challenge Robin for the top much sooner.

That's a +1.515m AI and +110 overall spins gain for today. I keep thinking that there's no way this song can get any more airplay, and yet it does.

Not only that, this station plays its power rotation more than just about any other Triple A station. To compare, the #1 song on Triple A ("Royals") tops out at 48 spins on non-KTCZ stations. i think its interesting, that this song has become one of the biggest songs ever and it only has 23 pages here at the pulse. It's because Robin Thicke is a guy, not a girl.

Did this song really beat Mariah's wbt after adjusting for inflation? There's no inflating, if anything Mariah's total is the one that is inflated, because the entire top 10 after Robin is from around 2004-2007.

Actually dahhhhling, it's because multi-format hits were more common due to pop being more urban leaning at the time. Pop and urban radio were very distant after that and that prevented the multi-format airplay records that were common around that time.

Yeah, urban stations are way more prolific than alternative and dance radio so urban-leaning hits have a huge advantage, right?

Won't Roar drop if anything? Its high mark last week had a big contribution from Perry fans downloading it first thing, so now it will have burnt off demand in exchange for a comparatively small amount of increased airplay.

Even though its unlikely he'll get most weeks at #1 on the Hot 100 (just judging from his lack of enthusiasm lately over pushing this anymore) if he really wanted the record, he'd still be seeking ANY kind of extra exposure and pimping this song out on every major program he can get on, discounting the single the week Katys #s seriously start to increase (and *video*) come out...just anything to try and offset her until he breaks or ties the record. It's just he and his team have been flawless thus far and should be using every last opportunity because we may never see anyone get this close to breaking the most weeks at #1 record again.
