It's charting was comparable to Already Gone. Is anyone gonna try and say that that wasn't a hit? What is "Already Gone"? ??? A song by Lifehouse, maybe? ???
To answer my own question, I want to say no, but I feel I'm a little biased. "Better in Time" was obviously a charting hit. It peaked at #11 on the Hot 100 and #3 on CHR. However, the problem is if it's going to be completely forgotten years down the road. I would like to thing it wouldn't, but I can't be sure. I still remember it, but I haven't heard it on the radio for years, not even on the AC and Hot AC here. However, I know a lot of people still remember it. But for how long? IDK, she's in a very gray area. Which is partly why I made the poll in the first place.

No, "Bleeding Love" was a smash hit, and "Better In Time" went top 10 in 3 different formats including Pop.

No, not really. It's preposterous to think otherwise imo.

There are many other acts who went on to have other minor hits but are still remembered as One Hit Wonders.
I think she will be considered one if another hit does not come along. Most casual listeners will likely remember Bleeding Love. Better in Time? Highly unlikely.

If VH1 producers has created these one-hit wonder lists based on research and not entertainment value then we would not even be having this conversation.
As time passes eventually all ("casual listeners" and "non-casual listeners" alike) will forget all songs that come their way unless they are replayed via commercials, movies or TV shows (like Don't Stop Believin) or show up on stations they choose to listen to or they were fans of the artist to begin with. In that sense, there could be quite a few 'one-hit wonders' that have several big hits in their day.
It may sound a bit weird since we all follow the charts religously but there are people out there that listen to music for the music and could not tell you what the chart poition was of a particular song.

Most so-called "one hit wonders" have their follow-up single (usually from the same album) doing quite well too, but after that, they find it difficult to chart and/or can't get another mega-hit. I personally liked "Better in Time" more than "Bleeding Love" though.
