No, "Bleeding Love" was a smash hit, and "Better In Time" went top 10 in 3 different formats including Pop.

"Better In Time" went top 10 in 3 different formats including Pop. She may not be the technical chart definition of the term, but: She will only be remembered for "Bleeding Love". Which is all that matters to the general public. She fits the bill.

Nah. Obviously "Bleeding Love" was the biggest, but "Better in Time" was still sizable enough to get her out of the "one hit wonder" label.

I would say no. Sure, "Bleeding Love" is the song she is known for, but "Better In Time" was also a sizable hit, and I would argue that "I Will Be" is a pretty memorable track. I may be off with my thinking though, since I'm from Canada (and Leona Lewis is/was considerably bigger here).

I say no. "Better In Time" may not be remembered that well (unfortunately), but it was definitely big enough to exclude her from OHW-ness.

She isn't technically because "Better in Time" was a pretty successful follow-up, but the general public here probably thinks of her as a One Hit Wonder because "Bleeding Love" is what she'll be remembered for and few will recall her other singles.

By the numbers, no.
Just because "Better in Time" was not as big as "Bleeding Love" does not mean it was not a hit. If "Better in Time" was her only hit, she'd be considered a one-hit-wonder as well. Not a no-hit wonder.

In terms of the general public I would says she probably is, for now anyway. I'm still upset that "Run" (both Snow Patrol and her version) didn't smash in the US.

This poll has made me realize that I've already forgotten about Bleeding Love. Remember when it was THE BIGGEST HIT OF OUR TIME!!!!!!!!!!!

In the US definitely. No one knew Better in Time. Lots of people don't know a medium sized hit but that's not the point, she had a monster hit and medium sized hit so already she is beyond one hit wonder territory. Will she ever be big in the US again probably not.

I really don't know in what universe a #3 Top 40 song is not considered a hit. Whether people remember it or not, it doesn't mean it's not a hit. Plenty of a bigger artists have plenty of #1 forgotten hits.

This poll has made me realize that I've already forgotten about Bleeding Love. Remember when it was THE BIGGEST HIT OF OUR TIME!!!!!!!!!!! Yeah, I mean to all the people saying that she's a one hit wonder because no one remembers "Better in Time", do people really remember "Bleeding Love" that well? Because if they don't, then she would be a no-hit wonder using that logic.

Obviously we all agree she has had more than one hit.
This 'general public' we keep referring to may love every song or may not have even heard of her since she isn't exactly a household name. I am sure there are people out there in each category. Since we all follow music trends closely here, then I think the poll answer is obobvious.
Since none of us have ever met this 'general public' person then how would we know what 'general public' thinks? Because a few people here may speculate what the rest of the world might think, I don't think that is enough to say that she is a one hit wonder or that it is generally accepted that she is a one hit wonder.
I think the better question to ask in terms of what the 'general public' accepts Leona Lewis songs as is not "Is Leona Lewis a one-hit wonder?" but "Do you know who Leona Lewis is?" We might find (in the US) that the latter question might need to be answered first.

Is Vanilla Ice a one-hit wonder?
His post-Ice Ice Baby single reached #4 on the Hot 100.

If the guideline being used is 'general public' then Vanilla Ice is a no-hit wonder.
This is a person who has not been in the public eye in 20 years.

Better in Time peaked at #11, and went top 5 of several radio formats. It's charting was comparable to Already Gone. Is anyone gonna try and say that that wasn't a hit? So no, she's not a 1 hit wonder! She's a 2 hit wonder.
(until she releases Glassheart in the US, then you can forget about it!)

The primary digital downloaders were born after the song came out or were too young to remember it when it was out. I would say some probably do but 'everyone' is unlikely
So the same question I asked about Leona Lewis should probably be asked here.
Before we can say the 'general public' generally accepts Vanilla Ice as a one hit wonder, the more basic question should be asked first "Who is Vanilla Ice?"
This is not going to be a question that can be answered here. People here follow music trends closely and all know who Leona Lewis & Vanilla Ice are. However, the criteria implied by the OP was perception of 'general public'

there are many people who are considered one hit wonders. but really arent.
here are some that i think people "think" of as ONE HIT WONDERS but technichally arent.
Vh1s 40 Greatest One Hit Wonders has some "questionable" choices
Vanilla Ice- Ice Ice Baby (play that funky music peaked at #4) Billy Ray Cyrus- Achy Breaky Heart (he had 5 other top ten country singles) Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch- Good Vibrations (but Wildside peaked at #10) EMF- Unbelievable (but lies peaked at #18) Kris Kross- Jump (but they had 3 other top 20 hits also) Gerardo- Rico Suave (but We Want The Funk peaked at #16)
so i think its just perception. all those people had a HUGE hit and never matched it. kinda liked Bleeding Love.
