After being a Breakout last week, I was kind of wondering if we'd hear "I Could Be The One", again. If not as a debut, then as an, unreasonably optimistic, "On The Verge". Thankfully, leveler heads prevailed.

Also interesting...two "Mr." songs as optionals.

Avicii vs. Nicky Romero has the first AT40 breakout that failed to chart since Miguel's "Adorn".

Actually, there was one week six months ago (November 17, 2012) with no Nicki Minaj on AT40; that was the week "Pound the Alarm" dropped out and "Va Va Voom" didn't enter until the following week ("Beauty and a Beat" debuted a week after VVV).

Before that, you have to go back to June 4, 2011, when "Moment 4 Life" fell off; the next week "Super Bass" was a Breakout and one week later it charted, beginning almost two years of near-continuous chart presence.

Speaking of long streaks, when Ryan back-annouced "Stay," he mentioned that Rihanna was spending her 190th straight week on the countdown.






Also, the version of "Poker Face" was not the same one they played in April of 2012.

Back in January, AT 40 didn't have Rihanna's streak nearly as long. I wrote them an e-mail which they never responded to
"Rihanna has been on every regular weekly survey on AT40 since the weekend of 26-27 Sep 2009 when Run This Town debuted. A total of 173 weeks and counting. Roulette and Hard take up any slack before the debut of Rude Boy in March of 2010."
So at least they're correcting it now.

After a heart attack (#'s 7 and 12), you need to give your heart a break. We get 3 "night" songs in the first hour. Macklemore
& Ryan Lewis are just outside the top 10 and the top 5. I like Can't Hold Us much better than Thrift Shop. Justin T. gets two
top 10's in the same week, which is always a nice achievement.

Having 3 breakouts and a 241 are enough regular extras for me. Nice to have some new music each week.

So glad to see that Zedd/Foxes "Clarity" debuted on this week's chart. Speaking of AT40 Breakouts and never hearing them after 1 week, didn't "Lip Gloss" by Lil' Mama have a breakout and never heard it the week after or at all?

Ryan noted that Justin Timberlake's "Mirrors" is over 8 minutes long on the album, and called it the longest top 10 hit since Guns 'n' Roses' "November Rain" in 1992. However, he didn't play the record-setting album version, but the edited single (presumably Casey and Shadoe did the same with "November Rain" most weeks.)

Speaking of Casey Kasem, the listener who requested "Don't Speak" called himself an AT40 fan since the Casey era, and Ryan proudly concurred. Always nice to hear a shoutout to the King of Countdowns.
