#1 for 3 weeks in 1973. It was originally from the film of the same name, but it became the title track of her 1974 album as well. Won the Academy Award and Golden Globe for Best Original Song. A classic. My favorite by Barbra.
Gladys Knight & The Pips took their cover to #11 on the Hot 100 and Top 10 R&B in 1975.

Classic Babs. In live performances, she had been singing some parts lower, but in recent times, she's been going higher (i.e. "we simply choose to forget..." near the end of the song).

I think Babs' music generally sucks, but this is one of her nicer songs and a real classic indeed.
