First off, WAY bigger numbers for Little Mix than I imagined! YOUR ONE-DAYS: Daft Punk should keep their disco helmets parked at #1 next week, probably moving in the neighborhood of 80-100k. Meanwhile, here are this week's key debuts: Alice In Chains (Capitol) 60-65k Little Mix (Columbia) 45-50k John Fogerty (Vanguard) 45-50k Paul McCartney (Hear Music) 19-22k The-Dream (Def Jam/IDJ) 18-21k Kid Ink (RCA) 11-13k You'll also note that Little Mix currently sits at #2 on the iTunes album chart (as Columbia retains the top two spots), followed by Alice in Chains; Kid Ink, Fogerty and The-Dream also now occupy the download emporium's Top 10. And speaking of little mixes, your friends at UMPG recommend the hybrid strain Nebula, which can give you a nice energetic buzz--though more than three tokes may induce a coma. High number for little mix . Maybe the US really wants a girl group right now . Olly is from X factor uk too and had a bigger hit but he opened much lower

One Direction fans seem to be supporting Little Mix too, so maybe that's why? Either way, its great to see them open so well!

I think Hits are underestimating AIC a bit. I'd put their sales closer to 70-75k. They are sure to be a strong second to Daft Punk.

Daft Punk Set For Second Week at No. 1 on Billboard 200 Chart
By Keith Caulfield, Los Angeles | May 29, 2013 5:24 PM EDT
The newly crowned No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart, Daft Punk's Random Access Memories, is aiming for a second week atop the list. Industry sources suggest that none of yesterday's (May 28) new album releases will pose a threat to topple Daft Punk from the No. 1 throne.
The new Billboard 200 chart's top 10 will be revealed on the morning of Wednesday, June 5.
While it's a bit too early to tell exactly how much Daft Punk's album will sell in its second week, it's sure to move more than the biggest of this week's new releases. Leading the debuting pack will be Alice In Chains' latest, The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here,"with perhaps 60,000 sold by the end of the tracking week on Sunday, June 2.
Next up in the debut parade could be U.K. female pop group Little Mix, which might see its first album, DNA, shift around 50,000. Also set for an arrival around 50,000 is John Fogerty's all-star collaborations album, Wrote a Song For Everyone. The set features the veteran rocker covering his own material, joined by the likes of Foo Fighters, Jennifer Hudson, Miranda Lambert and others.

Bummer to see no mentions of Laura Marling anywhere in these updates. Wherever she ends up, it'll be higher than the #99 peak of A Creature I Don't Know, but still not high enough for one of the best living artists.

That's better than I expected for Little Mix! They're beating Cher Lloyd's opening by 15-20k and Olly Murs by 25-30k, and Cher and Olly both had rising pop hits (either top 10 or close to it) when they released their albums while "Wings" hasn't even broken the top 20 on pop. Credit probably is due to some 1D fans but hopefully this spurs the label to push a second single.
That's...almost exactly what I expected for The Dream. No buzz whatsoever.
UMPG as a running gag is extremely tired, Hits.

Nice debut for Little Mix, would it become the highest charting album by a UK girlband since Spice Girls?

How many UK girl bands have there been in general? Girls Aloud is HUGE in the Uk, but never tried for US success. Then there's the Saturdays who can seem to get us success.

The US don't use 'em anymore. well we would have used danity kane, but piddly-doo-diddly had to go and ruin it! >:( yes, i'm still unhealthily upset about this. as to leoapp's question, I believe little mix would be the highest bb-200-charting album from a uk girl group since the spice girls. there have been many girl groups from the uk but very few of them were able to even become one-hit wonders, let alone have album success.

www.billboard.com/biz/articles/news/1565574/alice-in-chains-little-mix-and-john-fogerty-bound-for-top-five-onAlice in Chains, Little Mix and John Fogerty Bound For Top Five on Billboard 200 Chart By Keith Caulfield, Los Angeles | May 31, 2013 Rock band Alice in Chains is set for its highest charting album since 1995 as "The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here" might start in the No. 2 slot on next week's Billboard 200 chart. Industry sources forecast the album might sell around 60,000 copies by the end of the tracking week on June 2. Alice in Chains was last in the top two with its self-titled 1995 set, which debuted at No. 1 on that year's Nov. 25 chart. It would be the group’s final studio release with singer Layne Staley, who died in 2002. The band regrouped in 2009 for a new studio effort, the No. 5-peaking "Black Gives Way to Blue," with new singer William DuVall. "The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here" is the act’s first album since "Black." Blocking Alice in Chains from another No. 1 will likely be Daft Punk, who’s on course for a second week atop the chart with "Random Access Memories." The set started with 339,000 copies sold, according to Nielsen SoundScan, and may sell around 90,000 in its second week, sources say. British female pop group Little Mix is aiming for a top five entry with its debut set, "DNA," which might move around 45,000. Meanwhile, John Fogerty's all-star collaborations album, "Wrote a Song For Everyone," is also heading for a 45,000 start. That figure should place the title in the top five, giving the veteran rocker his highest-charting album (and first top 10) since 1985's "Centerfield" hit No. 1.

How on earth did Little Mix sell that much without having a hit? Especially when the Saturdays have their own reality show yet still failing to score a hit.

They're Fanbase is shared with 1d. I would say half was because of zayn and Perrie and half is from xfuk. I'm not sure what itd be doing without a combination of both.
Columbia needs to send another single and now Simon will have bigger expectations for his other girls.

How on earth did Little Mix sell that much without having a hit? Especially when the Saturdays have their own reality show yet still failing to score a hit. Simon whored out their single to every friggen reality show imaginable. The lowest point was having the girls from American Idol sing it for no apparent reason. Ugh. The Saturdays were SO robbed. They must be beside themselves.
