Check out the article hereThis story had been circulating on Romanian-language sites for the last couple of days. Originally, I bought the story she was in a bad car accident. In fact there were rumors she was in a coma or dead. Whatever the case, this is some rather disturbing news because I actually liked her stuff, even some of the songs which kind of went into (ironically) Rihanna-esuqe territory. I just hope after all the shock she's smarter than Rihanna and pulls herself together and dissociates herself from this guy and gets the help she needs. Even though there are some exceptions, once a guy's a wife-beater, he stays one. The stigma's going to stay on that guy for the rest of his life, just like Chris.

Singer Alexandra Stan claims manager-boyfriend beat her up over moneyRomanian singer Alexandra Stan claims that her boyfriend Marcel Prodan who is also her manager beat her up over money. Stan whose 2010 hit "Mr Saxobeat" sold almost 1 million copies in less than a year and reached the Top 5 in more than 20 countries, has on Tuesday filed a complaint with prosecutors alleging Marcel Prodan beat her after she asked for her earnings, the website reported. The 24-year-old who claims that she and Prodan had a dispute over money which let him in beating her has prompted a debate about domestic violence in the Eastern European nation, according to nydailynews.com. According to nydailynews.com, "Police spokesman Gelu Manolescu told The Associated Press that police picked up Stan from a roadside where she was arguing with Prodan and took the bruised 24-year-old singer to a hospital on Saturday where she was treated and released." Stan, who did television interviews while bruised and had black eyes shocked many Romanians and her incident sparked discussions on radio and television about domestic violence. After a message was posted on Stan's Facebook account by her managers saying "she would cancel concerts because she had had a traffic accident" that is when she decided to go public with her claims and insisted it wasn't true, and alleged that Prodan had beat her. Some Romanians expressed sympathy for the singer while others didn't and wondered if it wasn't just cheap a publicity stunt. According to the latest available national police statistics in Romania, which has a population of 19 million people, 4,800 domestic violence cases were registered in 2010 as well as 99 fatalities. In 2012, the Central European and Eurasian Law Initiative said one of its surveys had found that 800,000 Romanian women acknowledged being victims of domestic violence but that many did not report the cases to authorities due to feelings of shame and fear of the attacker. Meanwhile in South Africa, according to womeninaction.co.za, it is difficult to get reliable statistics on violence against women, the Department of Justice estimates that 1 out of every four South African women are survivors of domestic violence. Mr. Saxobeat indeed.
No longer a one-hit-wonder.
I hate myself...
Seriously, though, I hope she makes a speedy recovery both physically and mentally/emotionally.

Wow, OK, I didn't think I'd have to see not one, but two completely uncalled-for comments in the first three replies...can we try not to be horrendously insensitive and unfunny for once, please? Hope she recovers and is able to move past the incident.

Hope she recovers and is able to move past the incident. I didn't see this thread. Could you add merge my thread/post with this? Anyways, I'm really saddened by this. I really do hope that he gets some time in the slammer for this and that she hires a more suitable manager.
