This single appears to be very polarizing. Some say that this song hits it out of the ballpark, while others say they can't even sit through one listening. I'm of the former opinion.
Blurred Lines is being hailed has a combination of many genres, both old and new. I've tried to love the song, but I just can't. I hear nothing new about BL. It's merely a rehash of a million different bland and boring songs.
Give It 2 U is what BL's was supposed to be, in my opinion. It perfectly streamlines the R&B/retro sound with edgy beats and modern production. I don't find this dated at all.
But will it do well on the charts? As much as I love it, I don't think it'll live up to BL's chart run.

The most you can hope for is that this charts more in vein of Where Have You Been instead of You Da One. They shouldn't send this out until Blurred Lines is falling.

Testing on HitPredictor. This is going to be huge. It'll definitely be going head to head with Katy Perry.

It's straight up bubble gum and big sunglasses electro-pop tailor made for a Victoria's Secret fashion show.

In any event, if anyone thinks that the success of Blurred lines can be duplicated then they are not being logical. Robin needs to ride the success of BL until it dies down in September. Then push give it to u in September-December which is his best chance at getting 50% of the success of BL. For the rest of my life is already taking off on urban ac so let it build up hype until fall. Then release For the rest of my life in December to urban, rhythmic and maybe pop as it will already be at the top of urban ac. Then release either Ooh la la, Pressure, or Top of the world in March as 4th singles.

To me this sounds like a really bad Prince dance mix.

I enjoy this song. There's a few others on the album that I enjoy a slight bit more, but this is definitely the best choice for the follow-up single. Hope it's another pretty solid hit for him.

I hope this bland mess is a hit so the superior follow-ups have a chance at Pop.

There's nothing R&B about it. It's straight up bubble gum and big sunglasses electro-pop tailor made for a Victoria's Secret fashion show. Justin Timberlake fans seethe at the hype Robin Snatched. This being a straight-up Pop song has nothing to do with Justin Timberlake. I'm not even a fan of the new Justin single. The hit-potential in this is undeniable. I don't think it'll be Blurred Lines big because he won't have the Urban or Urban AC spins, but it's going to be huge on Pop and Rhythmic and downloads will be insane. I definitely think it's another Hot 100 chart topper. Whether that happens or not, in my opinion, will be contingent on the appeal of Katy's single. I'd love him to pull a Mariah and do a Pharrell remix for Urban. I'd like it infinitely more.

This is more instant for me than 'Blurred Lines', but this isn't nearly as good. That isn't to say this isn't very good either; love this. There's no reason it shouldn't be a hit.

I actually see this song peaking quicker than Blurred Lines falling off the charts. It's a decent song but Blurred Lines being such a monster is going to kill the success this song could have had, and after that, I really don't see Robin Thicke going Top 10 on CHR\POP again, yet having success that he already had at the formats he had before.

Adds date for this should still be next month. BL needs some time to die slowly as I think it will.
