It's titled Delicious Surprise and she's going to horribly attempt to cover a Beth Hart song.

Steelo,
Have you even hear Jo do this song? I heard it live 2 times last summer and it was awesome! She said it was going to be the first single but it was replaced. I definately think it is single worthy though! On RadioLia she said the next single is "It Gets Better" I haven't heard this one yet but I am thinking it is more of a ballad type by the lyrics. Another song she stated would be a single is "Too Late To Worry" also called "the Wal-Mart song" which is an awesome uptempo song! Other songs that would be awesome singles are "Not Goin Down", "Someone Else's Life", "Where Were You", and Ive heard "Heaven Was Needing A Hero" is a very touching song. This is going to be a HUGE album for Jo Dee, which will sell millions of records and win her numerous awards!

I've heard about half the songs from this album when I saw Jo Dee live last fall. If the other songs are as good as the ones I've heard, I agree that this is going to be a very solid album. From what I've heard so far, I think it's going to be much better than Burn.

Not saying that Jo Dee's version is gonna rival Beth's version (because like you, I am a huge fan of Beth and her voice), but you could at least give Jo Dee the benefit of the doubt until you've actually heard her version. She may not be able to touch Beth's, but I think your rambling on about comparing Jo Dee and Beth is a little premature considering nobody here has actually heard Jo Dee's version outside of a concert setting. Once you've heard the new version, feel free to post your comments...but I don't think they are really needed until then.

That's fine and you and anyone else can think that.
I more than likely will not listen to her version.

This is Jo Dee's best single in YEARS, and she's finally cracked the top 10.
If her CD has any more songs as stellar as this, Lee Ann Womack's 'There's More Where That Came From' now has some VERY serious competition for album of the year at the CMAs this November.

Wow she looks HOT! lol No but really she looks better than ever! I'm kind of worried about the single, as of right now it has only increased 33 spins over last week! ??? That can't be good! I hope it doesn't stop climbing already, it was off to such an Awesome, fast start!

I hope it doesn't stop climbing already, it was off to such an Awesome, fast start! Devin When a single climbs this fast...call-out then has to catch up to it's chart run. Most stations don't have research yet and therefore won't move it to heavy just yet. However, in National call-out it had the biggest increase and in Boston (one of the first stations on the song) it's No. 1 in call-out...so will probably slow down a little while other stations wait for their research. There are only a few artists that get the benefit of the doubt because of their track record w/o research (Tim McGraw, Toby Keith, Kenny Chesney, etc.). Huge requests are also helping this song...

Wow!! Has anyone else seen the cover for Delcious Surprise??? It looks like something a rocker would do. VERY VERY VERY ugly and one of the worst covers I've ever seen.
Dang, it's enough to scare some from buying it.

Here is a breakdown of the album by Jo Dee herself!
Curtosy of Curb!
I'm Not Going Down (Shaunna Bolton/Kevin Savigar)
This was one of the first songs I found for this record. It was an obvious choice. When I heard it, it not only made me want to run for miles, but it sounded like my life. It inspired me. Its message was fantastic. No matter what the circumstances, bounce back. I had to record it.
Someone Else's Life (John Bettis/Chris Farren/Danny Wells)
I don’t think I know of anyone who can say that they haven’t, at least once, looked around and wished that they could be in someone else's shoes – even if it were for just one day. I loved that concept, that fantasy, and I loved the drive of the song.
Delicious Surprise (Beth Hart/Glen Burtnik)
“I guess it’s all for the takin,’ I think it’s all yours and mine.” It’s the dreamer’s theme song and no song captures who I am, better. “See it and believe.” The lyric is so inspiring. The first time I heard it I wanted to scream it from a mountaintop as loud as I could.
It Gets Better (Jo Dee Messina)
I have been to that sad point in life, where all of my dreams have seemed to fade. But I realized that what really matters are the things that cannot be taken from you. I learned that we are never alone in our pain. That we have to feel it, to live through it, and to know that it does get better. I simply had to share that sentiment.
Who's Crying Now (Patrick Jason Matthews/George Teren)
In a word, it’s sassy. I love it. Listen to this song and tell me you haven’t said or wished or thought exactly the same thing.
My Give A Damn’s Busted (Tony Martin/Tom Shapiro/Joe Diffie)
Every once in a while you have to say it. When the bull gets deep and the lies are no longer believable. I let out a belly laugh when I first heard this song. It
was funny in the sense that it sounds like just like me. What better reason then to have recorded it?
Too Late To Worry (Danny Wells/Anthony Smith/Ron Harbin)
I liked the story behind this song. The girl, the guy, the rumors. Not as if I would know about rumors. It’s such a cleverly written song, particularly its lyrics.
Life Is Good (Jo Dee Messina/Mark Selby)
It took some time, but I finally realized life wasn't about stature or material things it was about living. The song has a simple message. Breathe in and breathe out. What a blessing.
Sometimes Love Is Just Not Enough (Jo Dee Messina/Mike Reid)
Following the end of a nine-year relationship, it helped me to deal with some of my pain and some of the emotions. I guess after something like that happens, you feel the need to blame someone. I realized that sometimes it's really nobody's fault. I hope this song helps someone, who might be in that situation, to understand that.
Where Were You (Jo Dee Messina/John Bettis/Wayne Kirkpatrick)
I wrote this when I was at rock bottom. I needed a friend and those who were there for the good times jumped ship on me. How sad. I guess you can feel the anger in the song, but thankfully I’m over that now.
I Wear My Life (Shaye Smith/Christi Dannemiller/Katrina Elam)
The song is who I am. There are no secrets. If you get to know me, you know where I've been in life. And wow, what a trip it's been.
You Were Just Here (Troy Verges, Brett James, Hillary Lindsay)
The first time I heard this song, it was just a few months after September 11th. It bowled me over. It’s so heartfelt. It still blows me over to the point that when I listen to it I forget that I’m singing it – the message is so strong.

If Delicious Surprise was co-written by the Beth Hart I'm thinking of, Beth is a rocker. Some may remember her from Star Search days. Of course, it could be a different Beth Hart. I haven't heard it, but I want to. I've always loved JoDee's music.

I have to say this song is absolutely PATHETIC. Coming from the pen of Joe Diffie though, what's one to expect? So, if Delicious Surprise (a Beth Hart tune) is still going to be included in this CD, it's going to be lousy because NO ONE can do a Beth Hart song justice. I have to agree with you. I think this "my give a damn..." is just trying too hard for a hit. I think the video is hideous as well. I like JoDee, but this song is just too rough for me.
Beth Hart rocks. Love "LA Song". It's on the same CD as "Delicious Surprise"

The album sounds like more of I Wish and That's The Way It Goes. She got in a rut with these inspirational type songs. Sounds like a lot of retread to me.
