Is there reason to be worried about Robin taking the #1 back sometime next week? I don't like the pop bars prospective atm, the difference between the two songs is slowly but consistently decreasing :(
Also, is it safe to rule Applause out of the race? #7 looks pretty meh, but who knows what will happen once the (official) radio impact kicks in... Any deals for Monday?

Songs don't ever rise back up once they fall, right?

Blurred Lines is at 0.7052 combined. Should finish off the week around 0.7500!

6022 bullet on a Sunday? That's got to be a record.
I know BTW had around 9600 spins on its 7th day, but it only had around 4500-5000 spins on Sunday which was the record at the time, right? And probably still is.

^Somewhat- it leaked last Saturday, so it had almost 8m total Mediabase audience from that day. Tomorrow will remove last Sunday's airplay, which was the day it had the CC airplay promo.

I hope Katy releases her video soon. Perhaps even tomorrow to make sure she keeps her lead. :)

This song actually feels pretty iconic to me....the theme, the huge chorus...I think it's impact will be gigantic.

So my sister depends on me to introduce her to new music. She loved Born This Way, but to my surprise she doesn't like Applause. We ended up singing Roar together in the car today, a lot.
The more time passes, the better I like Roar. Its cute, fun, and great to sing to! It won't ever be up with Teenage Dream, I Kissed A Girl, E.T., or Firework on my favorite Katy Perry songs, but it's definitely a solid track imo.

"Roar" will stand the test of time. I need more time to pass, but it might be my third or second favorite Katy Perry song, after "Teenage Dream."

I really wish I liked this more. It's just like "Part of Me" to me. Bland, boring, contrived, "we've been here before" type feeling. With that being said, I liked every other single from Teenage Dream, so chances are I'll like the next single.

(Although, I hated "California Gurls" and always will.) It's like it's not...bad, but it doesn't seem like it'll ultimately hold up compared to other hits out there.

NBC is already using this as a theme song for the World Track & Field Championships!

Blurred Lines is back down to .5781, which is the lowest it's been since 36 hours ago. I'm very surprised to see this apparently stabilize so high.

If anything, I feel like this song is more 'iconic' than any from the Teenage Dream singles. It might be the title, the anticipation leading up to its release, etc. idrk but when it's all said and done I think this has the chance to rank higher than all of her singles since 2008.

Katy can do no effing wrong at this point.
I don't even remember what her last flop single was. "Thinking of You"? That Timbaland collab from 3 years ago (that flopped in the US only)?
This girl does not play. And just like Rihanna, it seems so effortless. They both know what ppl want to hear and they deliver.

When it comes to Hot 100, she puts Rihanna and every female to the shame. Been researching her track record and it's insane. 5 years 13 solo singles 7 #1's 11 Top 3 singles 12 Top 10 singles Spent total of 27 weeks at the #1 Really?

It had 1839 spins after leak day + CC deal day, so 8/11 spins were (1839-553)= 1286 spins. Meaning 8/18 spins would be (1286-323)= 963 spins.
