HITS Daily Double mentions this as being added at Sirius XM/The Highway this week in the Rumor Mill, so I guess it's going to be the followup to "Runnin' Outta Moonlight". I realize it's not an official confirmation, but they're generally early on adding singles.

This is incredibly disappointing, especially because in the Kristy Lee Cook thread, someone mentioned LAC was likely coming next. Let's count how many better songs there were to choose from. 7? 8? Oh well. This is going to be another huge seller like ROM in all likelihood. Hard to criticize the label for making a sound financial decision like this. Even though LAC/AftR or even TotW were seriously radio friendly, they would probably sell a tick less. Such a shame. I always had a feeling the label would go in this direction despite this board offering many other opinions the day the album came out.

Very surprised they didn't go with Like A Cowboy. I imagine that is the fourth single.
This will be another big hit for him though. I just realllllllly want to see either Power of a Song or The Singer.released.

They could just be testing it too. Though if they're looking for radio friendly, I've had the chorus stuck in my head for a long time.
Phil, I can picture "Power Of A Song" or "The Singer" being released as the 4th single. I have a feeling they'll go 5-6 deep off of this 15 track album.

Wow, I have a hard time picturing that, but it'd certainly be very possible with so many deserving or radio friendly oprions. I'd be very happy if that happened.

Two #1s in a row, "Moonlight" nearly Platinum and increasing album sales as well. I'd even be happy if "Along For The Ride" was in place of "The Singer" or "Power Of A Song."

This is a solid choice from an album full of VERY strong material.

I like this one, but I was also hoping they wouldn't release this particular track this soon. Since it's radio candy, I'm sure it'll have no problems doing as well as ROM. I do hope that either LAC or POAS become singles eventually; he absolutely nails it there.
P.S. I'd also be pretty content if How Country Feels end up going at least Gold in the end; anything higher would be just gravy. ;)

I'm really hoping they're not changing their minds from Like A Cowboy to this one. But at the same time it'd really be hard to go with a wrong choice from this great album.

His voice really carries this one, particularly the chorus, but I can't get past how much this sounds like a Blake Shelton song - and I don't mean that in a good way. It's not really a bad song at all, I'm just sick to death of this particular sound.

This isn't quite as decent as the first two singles off Randy's album, and there are a few songs on the record I would have preferred be released over this, but "Goodnight Kiss" has definitely got the makings of a big radio hit. I'm betting on this going to #1 with no problems, even though I suspect by the time it gets to the penthouse, this will be a station-changer for me. It's just too generic and bland both lyrically and melodically.

Do you think this song might suffer a little due to the presence of the Kristy Lee Cook duet on the chart at the same time, plus the recurrent spins for Moonlight and his earlier #1? I'm not so sure he can get to #1 again so easily because his successes might get in his way. (Of course, his successes also help him. But both can be true....)

This song is so nice. The melody has a nice sway to it. I don't think it's going to be the hit ROM wound up being but it should still do pretty decently.

Hasn't been climbing all that fast, but I think it'll start to heat up a bit in the next couple weeks

I think this one is doing just fine. A couple of big hits doesn't ensure that Randy will suddenly need 20 or fewer weeks to top the charts. I could see this being the last single of the album, but I also wouldn't be surprised if there is a 4th single. They've got a lot of great ballads to choose from, but I always thought "Like A Cowboy" would be a big radio hit and so I could definitely see them going with that next. I could also see them going with "Wherever Love Goes", since Broken Bow couldn't get that to do anything with Kristy Lee Cook featured as the lead artist. The song itself is a hit, so maybe if they go with the original version of Randy featuring Kristy, and it's promoted by Stoney Creek instead, then it could be a hit. The label may still be interested in getting Kristy any exposure that they can, and "Wherever Love Goes" is a great song.

Heard this the other day on the way home and I really enjoyed it. Haven't really given this one a listen until now, but I'm really enjoying Randy's releases so far. There's still the usual reference to a truck with his girl and what not, but overall this one is an enjoyable listen.

I would love to see 'Absolutely Nothing' by the final single off this cd. Runnin OUtta Moonlight and Goodnight Kiss are the top 2...good selections for singles!

Looks like Randy will get a #2 peak on Billboard after a 31-week climb unless his label has some last-minute trick up their sleeves today. I find it interesting that Randy is missing the Billboard #1 and breaking what I think could have turned out to be a streak of 5-6 #1 songs due to Warner deciding to push Blake Shelton's song for an extra week at #1. If Blake's song had fallen from #1 last week, Randy would have easily gotten the Billboard #1 last Monday, so Stoney Creek has Warner to thank for screwing up Randy Houser much like Warner has Broken Bow to thank for causing Cole Swindell to miss out on what could have been a streak of 4 to 5 career-starting #1 songs. ("When She Says Baby" leapfrogged "Chillin' It" right around the time CI was about to peak and WSSB got three weeks at #1 on Billboard and came pretty close to a fourth week while Cole had to get a Mediabase-only #1/a #2 peak on Billboard.) I think that's kind of ironic. Also, it's ironic that the two artists whom I root for were the ones who got screwed.
Randy Houser's album is really great and if the charts weren't so darn slow I would love for six singles to be released (preferably "Like a Cowboy," "Power of a Song," and "Wherever Love Goes" as the last three). I hope there's at least one more single. I thought I read somewhere on this board that Randy said the next release would be "Like a Cowboy," which is a really addictive song but not quite as powerful as "Power of a Song" (which also seems like a more likely radio hit).

Looks to me like Randy will get the Mediabase #1 while Jerrod Niemann will get the Billboard #1 when all is said and done meaning that Randy will continue to have a #1 streak on Mediabase but I wouldn't count Randy out for the next week (5/2) for "Goodnight Kiss" to be #1 on Billboard. It just depends on if Jerrod falls out of #1 and makes room for Randy to take #1 on Billboard and Mediabase on the 5/2 chart.

^"Goodnight Kiss" is definitely done after this week. With these high airplay numbers and low sales there is no way he could hold out for another week even if Stoney Creek was bold enough to continue pushing, which is unlikely considering this song has already been in the top 10 for nine weeks and songs almost never continue getting pushed after getting to #1 on Mediabase (the only exceptions being songs from big stars like Jason Aldean and Luke Bryan that have strong digital sales and are still pretty fresh, as well as "Southern Girl"). Jerrod Niemann's not going to fall just yet because his song hasn't collected the Mediabase #1, which is the chart no Billboard #1 song besides "Drunk Last Night" has missed in years.
Randy's turn for #1 really should have been last week, but unfortunately for Randy Houser Blake Shelton's label decided they wanted to be aggressive for a change and get his song two weeks at #1, so this is a situation where Randy is just out of luck. It doesn't really matter though in the big scheme of things. Sure Randy won't have a streak of #1 songs, but it's not like getting a Billboard #1 credit is going to change the fact that Goodnight Kiss is selling worse than all but three songs in the top 20 right now (those three being #s 17, 18, and 20). Sales are really what matters, and I do think one of Randy's ballads might sell pretty well if released to country radio.
This is a good example of what @brian and I were discussing in the thread for Parmalee's "Close Your Eyes." I wouldn't really call Goodnight Kiss much of a hit, even if Stoney Creek did manage to get it a 29-week climb to #2. The single has only sold 310,000 copies and the video has only half a million YouTube views after two months. This is what I really don't like about country radio. Sometimes it seems radio does too much to level the success of the big stars (Cole Swindell, Dan + Shay, etc.) with the B- and C-listers (Eric Paslay, Randy Houser, etc.). "Chillin' It," "Friday Night," and "Goodnight Kiss" are all going to get the same airplay chart accomplishment, but Cole had a much bigger hit. What's even more annoying is that now Cole Swindell is looking at another pretty slow climb up the charts, so I sometimes get the sense radio doesn't know what the true hits are. Eric Paslay's "Song about a Girl" is lingering just outside the top 300 on iTunes, but it has had a steady climb into the top 30 and isn't showing any signs of slowing down right now.
I will say that Cole is a brand new artist while Randy Houser has been around for a while, but I still don't like the idea of new artists who obviously have a lot of star potential needing to go through several slow climbs in order to establish momentum. In Swindell's case, this may prevent his label from releasing as many singles as they probably could because each single's chart run will be so prolonged. What I respect about the top 40 airplay chart is that radio seems a lot less biased and all big hits get about the same climb up the charts regardless of who released them.

I'm quite shocked this hasn't been selling well. I thought this would be a huge hit but I guess not.

I'm quite shocked this hasn't been selling well. I thought this would be a huge hit but I guess not. It's been a pretty big hit. A #1 MB/#2 BB peak with average sales is certainly pretty good. And anyway, it's the 3rd single from a year-old album...I am sure a lot of people probably bought the full album by now so the latter releases aren't going to sell quite as much. I think "Like A Cowboy" is the obvious choice for the next single. "Power Of A Song" is a great song but it's a ballad, and radio seems allergic to those... I think LAC could be another big hit for him, perhaps a #1 and bigger than GK.

"Like a Cowboy" is great, but I'm thinking he goes with another up-tempo song for the summer. 1 of Absolutely Nothing, Top of the World, Sunshine On The Line", Growing Younger" seem more likely, to me.

"Like a Cowboy" HAS to be the next (and final :( ?) single. Unfortunately, there should be about 6 more. "Route 3 Box 250 D" and "Along for the Ride" could've been huge for a bigger artist. Ditto for "Power a Song" and "The Singer". "Shine" isn't an obvious hit for anyone, but it's still one of the fantastic standouts on the album. "Top of the World" and "Let's Not Let It" are as nearly as radio-ready as the last two singles even though they don't match the quality of those other ones. "Wherever Love Goes" was rumored to be a single and was for Kristy Lee Cook. If you ignore that one and "Shine" though that would be an astonishing 10 songs that deserve to hit radio.
As I've mentioned before, LAC is the perfect mix of radio friendly and quality. IF that is not next, that is a HUGE missed opportunity. Still, could you fault another choice? Maybe TOTW or LNLI but probably not.
