This is confirmed as the second single, going for adds April 4th. I guess they've given up on "Trying To Find Atlantis" going any further. I like it, it should be a hit for Jamie. www.allaccess.com/wma/jamihero.wma

I think it might do well -- but, even if the arrangement is good, I can't stand the empty, generic lyrics. I don't like anthem-type songs, such as This One's for the Girls or She's Not Just a Pretty Face. If you like that kind of material, though, this one might be appealing.

That is okay Evan. Sometimes threads get lost. I am just glad to finally be discussing Jamie O'Neal again! ;)

I heard this on Xm today and the last verse just floored me. This is my mother and grandmother to a T! I had to shed a tear!

The song had some difficulty getting going, but now looks like it is in better shape. I hope the 100+ gains continue. :)

This is an absolutely wonderful song; she's headlining KZLA's annual 'Spring Fling' at Six Flags Magic Mountain, with Joe Nichols & Phil Vassar also scheduled to perform.
Sounds like a heck of show, and thanks to three great singles from these folks currently on the radio, the radio is starting to sound a LOT better these days!!!!!

The video's up for watching at CMT. I love it, it really brings the song to life. Jamie's off to a good start, moving 46-39* on Billboard this week.

I'm pulling for this to reach the top ten; country radio definitely needs more female voices on the radio, and this lady can really sing!!!!!!

I really like the "Somebody's Hero" video much more than the video for Jamie O'Neal's first "Atlantis" single.
The "Atlantis" video was horrible. The song, imo, was annoying and her make-up and outfit was just hideous. (Whoever did Jamie's make-up and hair for that video should be permanently banned from ever working on make-up/hair again.)
The "Somebody's Hero" video is much simpler and nicer and Jamie looks nice in it.
The song is another matter though. I don't care for the song. It just seems like a weak song put out there to capitalize off of Mother's Day.

Wonder if it was meant to be... I have not seen the new video, but I agree that the song is week. I have had my fill of the parent-child songs lately from Reba, Martina, Darryl Worley, etc. They are good once in awhile, but enough! It's like the angel songs were a few years ago... Give me something edgy, please!

The song is in good shape... being on the chart for less than 10 weeks and being close to the top 20. I thought maybe it would flounder after Mother's Day but it seems to have recovered nicely. Looks like this should make a run at the top 10.

#20 on Mediabase today. Does anyone know where this is on Billboard and how many weeks it has been released?

I'm not sure right at the moment how many weeks it's been on Billboard, but on R&R it's week 13. The song moved up 5 positions to #20 on the Callout America research chart, where there's a large disparity in how men and women react to it. Men rank it 27th, while females rank it 8th (only last week females ranked it 19th).

The song has completed 13 weeks on Billboard and has just started its 14th chart week. It has an excellent chance to reach the top 20 on BB next week, though a couple of things have to go right for that to happen.

I expect this song to make the Top 10 and if it doesn't, it should make it no lower than #12.
It should be a Top 5 hit, but radio is reluctant to play women sometimes, so Top 10 is probably all the fans, Jamie, and her label can really hope for.
It's a great song and it's awesome to see it starting to pick up steam.

It's easily one of the VERY best singles on the radio right now, but the PDs out there still seem to be stuck to research and pushing single by men much harder than those by the ladies of country music.
This is still a wonderful song, nonetheless.

I figure it will peak somewhere short of the top 5, but you never know I guess.
