About time he has some new music coming out. The current era has gone for roughly the last 3-4 years.

Well judging from the title we have yet ANOTHER song about drinking or girl's butts. I was hoping Brantley would steer clear of this route, maybe i'm wrong and it's an entirely different song.

With Jason and Luke heading towards the pop side of country, Brantley could monopolize the country-rock market as the #1 guy in that sub-genre. Hopefully "Bottoms Up" has that country/Southern Rock fusion sound that I love.
I was disappointed when Jason went away from that country-rock sound on the "Night Train" album, so I'm hoping Brantley goes for it with this one.

Considering the title and the fact that it's by Brantley, I think we're in for another country/rock type of song and album from him. Which I'm totally fine with. Love his sound. Excited to hear his new material.
On second thought, I suppose this could be a ballad too. More likely to be something upbeat and rockin' though, especially since it's the first single from a new album.

Knowing Brantley, it'll either be a rocker or a ballad.
I'm going in with low expectations based on the title so I hope he surprises me.
Then again, I also went into "Bending The Rules And Breaking The Law" with low expectations and I love that song.

If that album release date is right, that's a odd timetable. So let's release a single a week before the Christmas shutdown for two weeks. Then let's drop an album two months later. They must feel there's less competition at that point....Must be a sure fire hit. We shall see

Big Machine tried a similar strategy by releasing "Changed" in December last year, and that didn't exactly yield positive results, but Valory has gone a great job handling Brantley's radio career so far, so I'm confident they won't steer this chart run down the wrong path.

Well, in theory if you wanted to release the single at some point in December you'd like to have it out there for Christmas for all the youngsters who get Amazon/Itunes cards. The radio aspect of the release date isn't going to mean much on the charts, but the $$ from single sales probably will.

It doesn't mean much in the long-run if a song is a radio hit, but I really think that "Changed" being stalled for a few weeks before taking off killed its momentum and caused it to barely scrape the top 20.

Mark my words, with this coming out on December 17th to Radio and iTunes the following day or later that day's night, I EXPECT a Clear Channel treatment to support this new release next month. If there is going to be a February release for the new album then I expect a crazy deal to be in place and plus I expect a high debut of course but will suffer the Clear Channel hangover the week after it is debuted by iHeartRadio.

I think only the bigger names get Clear Channel deals, with Big & Rich being an exception, but I just don't think a late December release date would work out for a big world premiere event. I guess I trust that Valory has a plan to get Brantley back to the top tier of the chart with this song... or perhaps they are counting on lots of sales and support from his huge cult following with or without heavy airplay, as Eric Church's label seems to be doing.

Except Brantley Gilbert really does NOT need the Clear Channel Deal because he is batting .750 with his singles, meaning three out of four have hit the top ten and two of them hitting the top.

Noticed on Musicrow.com that the video for "Bottoms Up" is all ready to go. Suppose to have a 1930's feel to it. I'm actually somewhat anxious to see the video with the treatment of the music video and the title of the song not really matching. Valory already has the add date, ITunes Date, and album release month all planned out. Now a video to go with it. I wonder how radio will handle "Bottoms Up" when it comes out. I just don't see any Clear Channel Deal with the level of star Brantley is. But could we see a 50 or 60 stations committed the week it comes out? Again it's The Big Machine Label Group, so I'm sure Borchetta is confident in this scenario working out the way he'd like it to.

I don't think this will go for adds this month, seeing as it was never given an adds date and we haven't heard anything about it. I'm not doubting the potential release to iTunes in a few weeks, but I figured this would be like 2 years ago, where Eli Young Band's "Even If It Breaks Your Heart" was released to radio in December, but with an adds date in January.

Here is what Brantley said about "Bottoms Up": “Man, we couldn’t be more stoked about it. The song’s just a party song. Every time I play it I think about a field party memory, so it’s a pretty cool deal. I’m hoping everybody digs it.” Ugh. Just what we need. Another party song.

Looks like I was right. AllAccess has this listed for a January 13 adds date. I always figured it would be that...get sent to radio prior to Christmas, but adds date in early January.

Oh this isn't going to bro-Country at all... Judging by the title its either about drinking or women's butts. Maybe even drinking while looking at women's butts. I can only imagine the video... Hope after hearing the song I'm proved wrong but it'll probably end up the Single of the Year...Cruise 2.0 and end up replacing it as the biggest hit in Billboard Country's history...

It's not TOO bad.
Obviously the lyrics are pretty bad but the productions not awful.

In just 30 seconds I hear "tailgate" and "girl slide on over in my truck" Yeah I thought so... Generic as hell! Like I said it'll be the hit of the year cause Country radio is now "1 flavor only" instead of "31 flavors" and this is about as 1 flavor as 20 songs probably just released in the last few months. Boring!!!! At least have the girl slide over in a Mini Cooper!

Maybe if it was realistic and it was sliding over in my 2005 chevy malibu. Then I could relate....maybe.

I'm really not sure what to make of this. It's like they said, "hey, we've got this really cool techno/club song, but we need to countrify it a little" or something. I don't outright despise this....but I certainly don't like it either.

This song just makes me angry. How many freaking songs do we need that say the same damn thing? Seriously. There is absolutely nothing new here, other than a more mid-tempo beat. More tailgates, more partying, more objectifying women. GREAT. JUST WHAT WE NEED.
And Branley's smirky delivery in the video makes me feel dirty. Creeper.

It's gotten to the point where these songs are boring. I here a song about a guy taking his "girl" out to paint the town and get in as much trouble as possible while drinking and raising hell. I don't despise party songs, but these songs all say the same things.
It's like they said "Well we got another one of these kind of songs. So we better make a different kind of video to make people ignore that fact".
It's not terrible compared to the few singles we've been delivered recently but I will probably turn the dial myself when this comes on.

I'm not sure what I think of this single yet. The lyrics are of course generic, trite, and somewhat irritating, but the melody, production, and video redeem the song to some extent. I think the theme of the video was pretty clever and the production makes this stand out a little more than songs like the recent Blake Shelton and Jason Aldean singles. This may grow on me or grow off me once I start hearing it on the radio. Not sure, but I definitely think it will be a hit in regards to both airplay and digital sales... probably at least a top 5 on the chart. Of course, I'm sure at least a 30-week chart climb is in store for Brantley, just like 90% of the songs on the chart right now.

I don't hate it as much as I thought I would, but I certainly wouldn't go out of my way to listen to it either. You can tell things have gotten bad when I'm actually pleased that the production, which bears no resemblance to country or any kind of music that I actually enjoy, is so toned down from what it could be. The lyrics are predictably awful from what I could hear - which thankfully wasn't too much, what with the bad mixing job and sub-par vocals. No doubt this will be a big hit - maybe Brantley's biggest yet. Country music in 2014 ladies and gentleman! (I think I need a drink)
