It's been announced that Lee Ann's next single is ''He Oughta Know That By Now''!. The song is about a woman's loneliness and sadness over her husband's absence and being gone all the time and how he is working, etc. It was written by Clint Ingersoll & Jeremy Spillman. It will be released to radio on April 11th. Listen To A ClipStrange since IMHMITTM is still moving up...

Interesting move. This would've made more sense a month ago when IMHMITM looked like it was about to start dropping. It's got one of the biggest bullets in the top 10 now. My guess is that this is more related to album sales than anything else. MCA probably figures that IMHMITM has sold all the copies of the album that it will by now, so time to move on to something new.
As for this song itself, I really like it. It's become one of my favorite songs on the album, so I'm glad to see it getting released. Since it's now following a top 10, I see no reason why it can't do at least that. I'll predict #6 right now.

I still think "One's A Couple" should've been the next single....but considering the whole album is amazing, i'm not too dissapointed in MCA's decision.
I just hope they have the sense to release "Stubborn" sometime down the road

I couldn't agree more....not upset that this is a single, but "Stubborn" stopped me dead in my tracks on the first listen. And "One's A Couple"...another knockout. Hope that makes a single.
Then again, no guarantee that "Stubborn" would do any better on the radio than this.
I also could see "When You Get to Me" doing well as a single..

This is a great song.
But I think the song that would do best is definitely "When you Get to Me". That song is EXTREMELY catchy, and an overall great song. This CD (along with the new Chely Wright and Sugarland CD's) continues to astound me.

I agree about all of that, especially "When You Get To Me". That would've been my pick for the second single, but "He Oughta Know That By Now" is fine by me as well.

Interesting move. This would've made more sense a month ago when IMHMITM looked like it was about to start dropping. It's got one of the biggest bullets in the top 10 now.. Either the label decided it wasn't going to go any further and asked stations to pull the plug in favor of the new single, or radio was simply tired of it. In any case what a difference a few days make. On Saturday it was +192. Today (Wednesday) it's -314. In the last couple of days the bottom has fallen out of it. Interesting. My guess is that the label stopped all promotion for the single, if nothing else than because of the timing.

First time listening to the album, I would have voted for When You Get to Me as the next single. Now I've got a strange feeling that, although it would be a gamble, Stubborn would wind up being a big hit. What a great song! WYGTM does have the confectionary thing going for it, and the actual choice should be a top 5 also.
When you listen to Lee Ann, you are in the presence of someone who knows how to interpret a song.

I think this album is loaded with great songs. I hope that "The Last Time" and "Two Husband's Ago" are singles. In my opinion those are the best two songs on the album.

This song's moving quite slowly. Anybody think it's time to start worrying, or do you think this one will build slowly? Looks to me like it's still 3-4 weeks away from reaching the Billboard top 40. I expected a bigger jump than 52-49.

Yeah...this one is moving really slow.....a little troubling....BUT I did finally hear this today on KZLA just before noon....so hopefully this'll help in some audience gain if they can just start spinning this!

how is the song doing now on the charts?
I also read that Twenty years and two husbands ago is supposed to be the radio song after this current one :).

It's up to 31 on mediabase today. it's been moving more significantly now since its release. i think a lot of stations were still recurrent on "I may hate myself..." glad to see this song climbing... i'm really starting to like it!

This song is having a big week! As of Sunday morning, it's up almost 800k in audience from this past Monday, and it should gain some more thanks to syndicated spins from its debut on American Country Countdown this weekend. Should move up 3 on Billboard to #31 on the chart dated 7/2, and is closing in on Jason Aldean and Josh Gracin. Next targets: the slow climbers by Buddy Jewell, LeAnn Rimes, and Trick Pony.

I was wrong, and she wound up at #32 because Trace Adkins went past her. And this next week will be a slower one for her -- but she should gain steadily and progress toward a top 20 appearance at the beginning of August, especially if a few of the older songs drop and make room for her.

This song is good -- and I love Lee Ann, but it just doesn't reach out and grab me like I May Hate Myself In the Morning did. It does sound right at home on the radio though.

Thank you Zazie. Do you know where she is now on both charts?
I heard it today on the California station, I was so happy.
