Well....looks like the wait is over. According to MusicRow.com, Jessica's new single will be "The Marrying Kind" and is set to be released June 6th.
I'm really excited.....good to hear she's back with some new music. I've never heard this song, but I think it was written by Marcel (her boyfriend) and possibly co-written by Jessica herself.
Can't wait to hear it!

I'm excited. Her last album was so awesome, but it came out in the anti-female period, so her singles underperformed. I still can't believe "Good Time" couldn't even crack the Top 40.

I agree...."There's More..." and "Good Time" should've both been big hits! "Now" was not a great album...but it should've been more successful with the singles that were released.
I just checked the ASCAP site and "The Marrying Kind" was written by Marcel, James Slater (In My Daughter's Eyes), and Jessica.

Is it a ballad? or Uptempo?
And BTW is there anyway to hear a clip of this?

"There's More.." was an a amazing song. One of the most underrated of the past couple years.
Hopefully she does another freebie concert at Moheagn Sun this summer. I missed last year's, but caught her in 2003. She was very good.

Can't wait to hear it! I loved "There's More To Me Than You," especially the ballad version! "Good Time" should've been a summer hit... the video was so fun too!

It's good to hear something new is coming from Jessica. I really like her voice and most of her songs.

I really liked the ballad version of TMTMTY as well, and I thought Now was a solid album. The hit that I think that got away from that album though, was You're The Man. That's her best song so far in my opinion.

The clip sounds OK to me. I need to hear more to decide.

the link worked for me this morning....but i guess All Access took it down sometime today.
At least I got to hear the complete song at least once....I really like it, but I am partial to Jessica/Marcel. It's a fun song with some creative lyrics...and definetly different from anything Jessica has recorded so far. I really really really hope radio gives her another chance. This IS her make or break single.
According to that All Access add...the tentative release date for the new album is October 25th

I love Jessica and I hope that the new song does well. It is different than her usual stuff and very cleverly written.
However, I don't see radio eating it up. I think it will have trouble getting much further than #30.
I sure hope I am wrong because I agree that this is Make Or Break Time for Jessica.

Just hear the full song on Allaccess, and I'm not to sure about it. I can't really see radio taking off with it. My prediction, barely crack top 30. Which is sad, because I like Jessica and it's unfortunate that she flopped last album, but it came out during the anti-female period. I hoped for a better song for the lead off. Hopefully they've got more stuff coming.

Yikes. . .So they're saying that this is the best song they could find after a two year absence?

This sounds similar to Who I Am which was a #1 hit and even made a minor splash at AC. Nu Jessica!!!

hhhmmm....i just headed over to All Access to listen to the soundclip again and they took it down. I'm assuming this means that DreamWorks pulled the single....
it's not exactly burning up the mediabase chart...it's actually not even close to charting on Billboard. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Dreamworks pulled this song for "Summer Girls." The song will be released June 27th.

I'm guessing they pulled it BEFORE it wasn't tearing up the chart. I'm assuming that's what you mean as well. They probably uplled it before the official 'add' date to ensure there was no confusion when the new single came out.
