Unlike two weeks ago, I'll be able to listen to this one (and post for it) all the way through. :)Nice of them to play "Miss Movin' On" right before the countdown. No surprise debut at #40 this week - no, instead we get a much bigger surprise: No debuts this week, folks! Always lovely... AMERICAN TOP 40 - OCTOBER 26, 2013 TW LW WKS Artist - Title Peak-To-Date40 37 (24) Jason DeRulo - The Other Side (5) 39 40 (02) Fall Out Boy - Alone Together (39) 38 27 (15) Phillip Phillips - Gone, Gone, Gone (22)37 38 (07) Krewella - Live For the Night (37) 36 33 (10) The Neighbourhood - Sweater Weather (33) 35 30 (16) Miley Cyrus - We Can't Stop (9) 34 35 (03) Fifth Harmony - Miss Movin' On (34) 33 34 (26) Selena Gomez - Come & Get It (3) On The Verge: J. Cole featuring TLC - Crooked Smile32 36 (02) Jason DeRulo - Marry Me (32) 31 31 (21) Bruno Mars - Treasure (5) Optional Extra: Kelly Clarkson - Breakaway30 39 (02) Imagine Dragons - Demons (30)29 28 (28) Justin Timberlake - Mirrors (1) 28 29 (11) Pink featuring Lily Allen - True Love (28) 27 26 (23) Daft Punk featuring Pharrell Williams - Get Lucky (2) 26 32 (03) Justin Timberlake - TKO (26) 25 23 (29) Macklemore & Ryan Lewis featuring Ray Dalton - Can't Hold Us (1) 24 24 (08) Tegan & Sara - Closer (24) 23 25 (13) AWOLNATION - Sail (23) 22 22 (05) Eminem - Berzerk (22) 21 20 (19) Maroon 5 - Love Somebody (2) Subway Fresh Buzz Song: Rihanna - What NowOptional Extra: Neon Trees - Everybody Talks20 18 (24) Imagine Dragons - Radioactive (2) NOTES:- So, I was predicting "Gone, Gone, Gone" to fall off, and possibly "The Other Side" to as well, and in just 10 short minutes it's revealed that neither of them do. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm......
- And Ryan just said that Krewella gains a spot (before the break). That would've been my next guess for a dropper. This is not encouraging.
- Nice to see The Neighbourhood going down here when they're going up on Mediabase...isn't it?
- OK, Ryan just said Selena Gomez is 33. Unless there's another complete surprise dropper, I'm starting to think there's no debuts forthcoming.
- Just for reference (should anyone ask): This is the third debut-less week in the Seacrest era; the other two are 1/29/05 and 9/1/12. This is, however, the first such week I've been able to listen for. (To the best of my knowledge, the only other debut-less weeks happened in the Mainstream Top 40 portion of the Shadoe Stevens era.)
- Despite the lack of debuts, Ryan says that our votes are making for a lot of changes this weekend. Really now?
- One additional side-effect of a debut-less week: A not-so-Fresh Buzz Song, of course.

jasonharper2004, did Ryan say anything about debuts this week - or, a lack of them? I was distracted and missed most of his opening.

That's okay. :) This far in, I feel pretty confident calling it for a debut-less week. I don't think we're going to get a surprise debut this high up or higher.

So...something's come up, and I have to step away from the show. Dammit. >:(
Anyone want to take over? :)

I wish I'd seen the request to complete the countdown earlier; by the time I did they were starting the top 10. Well, here it is; who's got 11-19?
10 12 (13) Paramore - Still Into You (10) Two For One: Paramore - Misery Business 09 09 (03) Miley Cyrus - Wrecking Ball (9) Extra: Ke$ha featuring will.i.am - Crazy Kids 08 08 (07) Drake featuring Majid Jordan - Hold On, We're Going Home (8) 07 05 (18) Capital Cities - Safe and Sound (2) 06 07 (08) Lady Gaga - Applause (6) 05 06 (14) Jay-Z featuring Justin Timberlake - Holy Grail (5) 04 03 (13) Lana Del Ray - Summertime Sadness (2) 03 04 (08) Lorde - Royals (3) Optional Extra: Rihanna featuring Calvin Harris - We Found Love 02 02 (09) Avicii featuring Aloe Blacc - Wake Me Up! (2) 01 01 (09) Katy Perry - Roar **5 weeks at No. 1**
Interesting thing about extras in the top 10: there are two Rihanna extras in the show and no current hits from her (yet), while "Crazy Kids" is heard later in the show than it ever was when it was on the chart (it peaked at #20). Meanwhile Paramore make the top 10 for the first time ever, and as such get the 2 for 1 treatment.
Looking below, it appears that there are four countdown songs, from 12 to 9, which each alternate with extras; this ping-pong pattern is not very good pacing IMO, especially as there's plenty of room for extras in the 30-21 and 20-12 blocks.
By my count there are 7 songs in the countdown that so far have peaked at #2 (including "Wake Me Up"-which could still go the extra step). That's obviously a side effect of the fact that only 3 songs have been #1 on AT40 for the last four months.

Thanks guys. :) I probably won't be able to listen Thursday nights for the time being now (not the full show, anyway). Oh well, it was nice while it lasted. Looking below, it appears that there are four countdown songs, from 12 to 9, which each alternate with extras; this ping-pong pattern is not very good pacing IMO, especially as there's plenty of room for extras in the 30-21 and 20-12 blocks. No indeed, it is not. (Though "Numb" makes a good Op. Extra and Paramore makes a very good Two For One. :)) With regards to Avicii and #1...that top spot is going to be very interesting to watch these next couple of weeks. On Mediabase, we had Lorde take #1 just this past Sunday, and now Avicii just took it from her this morning, and it’s very possible that she could swipe it right back at any time over the next few days. Depending on at what point during the week the show draws its chart from, we could see: Katy stay put for a 6th week next week. -OR- Lorde takes over next week. -OR- Avicii, not Lorde, takes over next week. -OR- Miley Cyrus makes the second-largest Seacrest-era leap to #1 and goes 9-1! :O (Just kidding on that one. ) The week after, it could be Avicii or Lorde, either one staying put or taking over. Some exciting times ahead, methinks... :)

On only the 3rd. Ryan Seacrest AT40 with no debuts ever (Ties the record Shadoe Stevens had when he did his 1988-1995 AT40 chores - 3 times in 1993-1994 there were no debuts), the top 9 are the same as last week.

And not one song we haven't heard before on AT40. Does this week's show rival watching paint dry?

I think the last time there were no debuts in the Casey AT40 era was the weekend of 5/12/2001.

And "The Fox" by Ylvis has yet to make the Ryan Seacrest AT40 chart! It has yet to make even the Mediabase Top 40 without recurrents, too...

Double-posting (sort of), but from the "Do What U Want" thread: The link is from the AT40 website, of course. :) Wonder if he'll have a correction next week? ;) In any case, he did play a drop of the song.

Because there's no new entries this week, it makes the chart look drab to me. The one thing that annoys me is that "Sweater Weather" is moving down and "Come & Get It" moves back up one spot. So I'm sure that RiRi, Travie and J. Cole will break in next week, while "Live For The Night", "Gone Gone Gone" and "The Other Side" are the probable departures.

Adding to those, you could possibly toss in "We Can't Stop" being replaced with "Stay the Night". :) "Alone Together" is early to the party, but as it seems to have a new breath of life, it might make it to the actual Mediabase recurrentless top 40 anyway.
