Strait Loses Voice, Cancels ACM Performance Mon. May 16.2005 6:28 PM EDT
George Strait has lost his voice due to a throat infection and will not appear on the Academy of Country Music Awards on Tuesday night (May 17) in Las Vegas. He has also withdrawn from a television taping in Las Vegas on Wednesday night (May 18), celebrating the 40th anniversary of the Academy of Country Music.

Thank Lord I don't like him! I just read your post history, and noticed that most of them are in the pop forum, so this statement doesn't surprise me. I'm just glad he's not going to lipsynch it.

I was really disappointed to hear that; I was REALLY looking forward to hearing him perform 'You'll Be There'.
It's taken me awhile to REALLY appreciate that song, but I'm now inclined to think it could easily spend a month @ #1, making it his biggest hit since the exceptional 'Living And Living Well' spent a month @ #1 in 2002.
I don't know if it could surpass 'Write This Down' as his biggest single EVER (unless he had a song which spent at least SIX weks at #1 prior to 1997 that I don't know about), but we'll see.
