It's unfortunate to see this song stall out. I imagine that it will be removed when tonight's chart is released. I'm of two minds - on the one hand, I agree that a flop of a third single wouldn't be good for Charlie's momentum, but on the other hand, I don't think that he has seen enough success to warrant anticipation for a new lead single. Since the material on his debut album is fairly strong, I actually think it makes sense to try for one one more single. It might peak below the top 40, true, but I also don't think Charlie has very much to lose at this point, either. Tonight will only mark its 20th chart week, so it can't go recurrent, but I'd expect it to go recurrent next week.

For some reason I always think that this song is older than it actually is. It moved back up to #34, without a bullet

Great song. It just feels like it's missing a little on the vocals. I don't know if that makes since but for me I'd like to hear a little stronger delivery from Charlie. Like mentioned before he just has not sold as well as other new talent this past year. These first two songs haven't been daisy duke big truck tailgate moon shine songs so it's been harder for him to break through. In due time he will though, Could It Be is one of my favorite tunes from this last year.

Yeah, this is done. I just hope they release at least one more single. I'm worried that they might not, since the album has hardly sold anything at all, and the singles aren't selling either. Just a crying shame. One of my favorite albums in a long, long time... absolutely loaded with so many refreshing songs. I hope they give "Rubberband" a chance.

Perhaps I spoke too soon. WMT gains 38 spins and 100k in today's Mediabase update, jumping up a spot to #36 as it sneaks back ahead of The Cadillac Three.
So it would appear that Warner Bros. is still fighting. I won't complain...I love this one, so it's perfectly fine by me if this one sticks around for a while longer. I definitely support the idea of sending out "Rubberband" next, but not until this one is unable to climb any higher.

I think we can now safely assume this is done. A -128 on today's mediabase update and with the amount of competition surrounding it and the fact that "Want Me Too" is now over 20 weeks old, I'm afraid that country radio has gotten one wrong once again.
I'm really hoping for "Rubberband", but the pessimism side of me says that Warner will end the era in fear of completely losing any kind of momentum.

I'm really hoping for "Rubberband", but the pessimism side of me says that Warner will end the era in fear of completely losing any kind of momentum. Yeah, I think this is finally done. Almost a drop of 500k this morning, and a sharp loss of 84 spins. Tyler Farr didn't have any success with sales or radio play until his 3rd single and it took a song "redneck crazy" that was completely different than any thing else that was on radio to get him on the map. I see a big difference between what's happened with Charlie and what happened with Tyler Farr: Farr's label didn't release his album until "Redneck Crazy" was a major hit. I'd bet that 95% of casual radio listeners aren't aware that Tyler released "Hot Mess" and "Hello Goodbye". And since RC turned out to be a big hit, they basically can treat it as his lead single. Warner Bros. and Charlie can't do that. They released the album (and don't get me wrong, I'm glad I was able to own it even though it didn't start off with a huge hit), and they've seen how little it's sold. Tyler Farr still has a lot of upside but Charlie's just missed the top 30, and his album has been out for the better part of the year. So his label might not want to work a 3rd single to radio, especially if they fear they won't get much return on it. I guess we will have to wait and see. I really don't want the Rubberband era to be done but I have no say in it, unfortunately. I suppose Charlie could always pull a Frankie Ballard...have 2 minor hits and then come back 2-3 years later with a big breakthrough. I'd rather not wait that long, though, especially since the material on Rubberband is exceptionally good and more than deserving of doing well at radio.

I didn't mean to imply the Tyler and Charlie situations were the same. I just meant that it took Tyler three singles before something finally clicked. I realize Charlie has an Album out that is not selling but at this point I don't think he has anything to lose by sending out another single and seeing if maybe it works.

Sadly, this did go recurrent tonight. We should hopefully know in the next week or two whether or not they are going to bother with a third single. I still think that releasing something else, rather than waiting for a new album, is in Charlie's best interest.

Absolutely love, love this song!!! & I love Charlie to! Just discovered him recently. I've heard about him before but never gave much attention, I'm sure glad I did this time, he deserves to be played on radio! Love it, sad to hear radio won't take to him :(

"Rubberband" got its first official add today on Mediabase...it looks like it was KJKE in Oklahoma City. Please, please, please let this mean that it's gonna be his next single! Fingers crossed!

That's great news. I still can't believe "Want Me Too" didn't smash, but this great album deserves another single and "Rubberband" would be the perfect choice.
On a side note, his debut album is only $5 right now on Amazon MP3, so purchase it if you crazily haven't already.

Yep, count me in on the "Rubberband" sweepstakes. Could be a game-changer for Charlie. "Rubberband" and "Young To See" need to be heard by people.
