This became the third Top 10 R&B hit of Patti's solo career when it peaked at #10 in 1984. It was written and produced by Bunny Sigler and Kenny Gamble. It's been sampled many times, most notably in Nelly's #1 hit "Dilemma" and Lloyd's R&B hit "Lay It Down". One of my favorite Patti singles.

Mama Patti served it on this one! Perhaps my favorite single from her. Outkast also sampled this for 'Ghetto Musick'.

This song has been sampled so many times, which shows the timelessness of the song. I think this is one of Patti's signature songs, and I appreciate the laidback vibe of this song.

Outkast also sampled this for 'Ghetto Musick'. Yeah, that song introduced me to the original Patti song. I love both tracks. |
