This is from her 1997 album Flame. This is written and produced by Gerald LeVert and Edwin "Tony" Nicholas.
Patti went into the studio and recorded brand new vocals with slightly different lyrics for the dance remixes for Tony Moran. David Morales even was offered a shot at remixing it but according to him, the money wasn't right so he didn't do it.

The original is nice, but Patti took this to church and back on the remix. Just fiery and intense.

This song was a great follow up to When you Talk About Love. I wish this song would have done a bit better on the charts. I believe it made it to the top 40 on the R&B charts, which was solid.

Well this is a nice blast from the past :) I stumbled across this old thread in doing Google search for the song "Shoe Was On The Other Foot" and so I thought I'd share my brand new mahsup for this song. I actually filtered an acapella from the original Album Version (vs. the Tony Moran re-recorded vocals). Since David Morales was their 1st choice for remixing the song, I found an old instrumental of his to combine with the fabulous vocals of Ms. Patti Labelle. Enjoy! Attachments:
