Perfume. Unconditionally is very bland to me. Both songs are nice but I agree. I think Perfume has more personality, while Unconditionally, while good, is just very vanilla.

Perfume. Unconditionally is very bland to me. Perfume sounds twice as bland and Britney sounds constipated.

Easily Perfume. I love the build ups and while the chorus is uneventful, it does not permanently damage my ears.

Perfume. I find other ballads/slower songs better from both artists, but at least Perfume has some life and personality in it.

Not sure exactly. Right now I'd say "Perfume" is the better of the two.

Perfume sounds twice as bland and Britney sounds constipated. I don't think so. Unconditionally both lyrically and production-wise is basic and reductive I think the same about Perfume. Unconditionally's hook is pretty different at least (and aggravating to some), Perfume goes nowhere because of the underwhelming chorus. It's a non-event bar the verses and Britney's voice sounds even more constipated than on the S&M remix in some parts. Just my opinion.

But I think Perfume's build up is great and even though the chorus isn't exactly amazing, by the last time it comes in it starts to become anthemic in a way; the verses are amazing and so is the hook of "I'll never tell, tell on myself..." parts. To me Unconditonally is just too same-old, same-old for Katy, the lyrics are boring, the production is boring but I will say she sounds amazing on it. Also, Britney sounds great on Perfume. Especially in the verses! I don't hear "constipated" at all.

I agree the build-up on Perfume is quite good and Britney sounds good on the first verse or so but when the chorus kicks in I don't really like her delivery, it sounds too edited. I think Perfume should be longer in order for it to work though, I've listened to it a couple of times and it always seems to fly by even though I don't love it that much. It should be longer and with a bigger climax in the end. Right now I find it underwhelming.

I definitely agree there, I think a bridge was necessary and the last minute should have a had a change in vocal delivery so that it climaxed with bigger notes.

Both are insanely boring and complete vocal clusterfucks, but I'm going to go with "Perfume" for the production factor.

"Unconditionally" isn't great, but that other song is just plain bad, period.

"Unconditionally" is just dull and it really doesn't help that Katy's tonality irks the shit out of me on top of that. With "Perfume" sure it may be a little on safe side in theory, but I like the production within the verses and the fact that Britney's vocals are showcased effectively.

Neither are AMAZING but Perfume wins by virtue of being an ode to sluts everywhere. I dislike both, but Britney Spears isn't Katy Perry so her. Finish her
