This is incredibly catchy, the first Christmas song in ages that has an opportunity to make some impact on the por chart. But i'm a little worried by the sales, i know Kelly's Christmas album is selling very well, but i find a little strange that Pentatonix Christmas song (with zero airplay) is selling a lot more than this

Is this doing anything on the pop charts yet! Or is it not going to pop! From earlier today: From the December 3rd chart: --------- 97 CLARKSON, KELLY Underneath The Tree 60 0 60 0.279 #74 on iTunes Remember that Christmas songs don't really see a whole lot of play on pop to begin with. And the ones that do see somewhat significant play on pop won't really see it until the week of Christmas.

Isn't Justin Bieber's "Mistletoe" the only holiday-related tune to crack the top 40 at mainstream top 40 in recent times? And that was a No. 40 peak. I wouldn't expect much better for this one. Christmas falls on a Wednesday, so if pop picks up the pace Christmas week, for these Monday-Sunday charts, it may not get enough play to crack the chart.

Free song of the week on iTunes, and still top 50 nonetheless. Queen I'm really surprised they did that because those free downloads won't count for anything and makes them no profit. It should have been another original as Free Single of the Week like "Wrapped in Red" or "4 Carats" so it could get people interested in the album, thus adding more revenue than just putting that actual single for free.

December 9th: 104 74 CLARKSON, KELLY Underneath The Tree 104 53 51 0.425
It's the second most played Christmas song on pop right now behind "All I Want for Christmas Is You," which was at 433 spins on December 8th.

debuts at 92 on the hot 100 this week. will likely fall off because of the free sales this week, but the following week it should get a new peak

This definitely isn't gonna take off here. Too bad. Contemporary Xmas music really is dead.

Do the iTunes rankings include free transactions? It's currently No. 61 on iTunes.

I almost made mistake when I was searching for it. I'm buying WIR this weekend. On iTunes Top 200, the $1.29 version is at 61, which is tracked differently the UTT (single).

This definitely isn't gonna take off here. Too bad. Contemporary Xmas music really is dead. I don't think contemporary Christmas music is dead, not at all. I think UTT could end up being a classic down the road. I just think CHR is not interested in playing Christmas music with the exception of the few days leading up to Christmas. It would sure be nice if they played it more but I don't think most people who listen to CHR are interested in Christmas music. Those that are will just find their local AC station and go back to CHR when they hear the same Christmas song for the 1000th time. Kelly should get decent play and already being top 50 is quite nice. If it could make top 40 then that would be great, IMO.

I know this is kind of blasphemy, but I could actually see this becoming my favorite modern Xmas song ever, over All I Want For Christmas Is You. :O I thought that would never be toppled for me, but damn if I can't stop listening to this. I don't even find myself wanting to listen to All I Want this year because of this.

Surprising how this is still top 60 on iTunes despite the free version being out there too. Get money !

Surprising how this is still top 60 on iTunes despite the free version being out there too. Get money ! People feel guilty about not coughing up for such a delectable festive treat so they go back and buy it out of guilt and religious reverence. Gold, frankincense and myrrh are so passΓ©, so they offer up Kellsus $1.29 worth of glad tidings instead.

I remember back when "This Gift" by 98 Degrees and "Auld Lang Syne (2000)" by Kenny G were able to make the top 40 on pop radio (and appear 2 weeks later in January on AT40). I don't see why CHR/POP stations couldn't still do the same today (even if it was only on Mediabase and on Ryan Seacrest's show). But then again, I will never understand why a station has to spin a song 20 times per day either (other than financial incentive and/or a true lack of variety).

Queen Clarkson slaved for hours in the kitchen and served up an immaculate Christmas feast, and CHR better eat it all.
