My first post! But my question is does Flex have a chance to finish top 50? yes, it does have a chance... but not a very good one for a couple reasons: 1. there are bigger songs below it that are going to jump over it in the coming weeks (What Do You Mean, Locked Away, Hotline Bling, Stitches, etc.) 2. it may not acquire many more points since it could fall off the hot 100 at any time now. That's what I figured.. hopefully it doesn't fall below 55.

idk about the whole history of the year end charts, but "studio" is definitely the lowest peaking song to make one since the formula got changed in 1991

Unless something else miraculously falls off next week, Taylor will not only be the only female in the top 10, but Blank Space will be the only song not still active on the Hot 100. So insane. I wish See You Again tumbles off from #22, Thinking Out Loud from #37 and Sugar from #45 altogether next week.. These three songs are more than half of the whole reason why I wish more female could kick those "male male " twerps off the chart..

I never liked Sugar and never will. Idk why everyone else likes it. In my opinion its Maroon 5s worst and most annoying song. I can understand why it ended up doing well though. I actually liked This Summers Gonna Hurt but I can understand why that flopped.

I'm really impressed with Want To Want Me. I figured it would have a solid 20 week run and end up closer to YE #25-30. But it became one of the chosen ones that just won't go away and looks to be sitting securely in the YE top 20.
About that follow up single Cheyenne, tho.... what were they thinking?

They should've released Try Me before Cheyenne, and Cheyenne now. And done actual promo :(

Sure, is not as good as any of their older material from many years ago, but is very catchy and danceable, and Adam sounds his most listenable. Is also much better than "Maps" and "Animals", which were horrible, especially the latter one. Is popular because it has a disco vibe that people can dance to. If you don't like it, fine, but please don't talk like that anymore about people's tastes (trust me from experience).

^ sheesh. calm down. not a big deal. personally, i don't really like it either - it simply doesn't have any of the dramatic flair i like from them (I much prefer Maps followed by Animals). that said, i think a BIG part of its appeal is the lyrics - namely if you're a female. there's a feel-good sexiness to what he's saying that females eat up for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
I would equate it to Rock Your Body by Justin Timberlake. I get its appeal, but it personally doesn't do anything for me compared to the majority of his other singles. People love it - like you said they can dance to it and it's a feel good, sexy lyric. To each their own.
Maroon 5 has decidedly abandoned their own "band" sound on recent albums for more trendy pop productions to mixed results for me. Sugar is in the vain of Birthday by Katy Perry. Just like Maps followed the sound of Am I Wrong. Not uncommon with all these producers and trends. I just don't care for that low-key mid tempo disco pop sound in particular.

I can't stand Sugar, but mainly for how high his voice is in the chorus.
Also, with the Ariana remix of What Do You Mean coming out tomorrow, should help the song. Just after The Hills releasing two new remixes lol

Just after The Hills releasing two new remixes lol oooh i wasn't aware of this WDYM remix... sounds like it could potentially slay iTunes. especially with all the hype for AG's new single already making people all giddy. hotline bling might have trouble reaching #1. poor drake. he has 100 songs on the hot 100 right now, but can't get a #1 out of any of them! ;) i kid... there's a good chance he'll make it still at some point.

Well there's about half a month for The Hills, What Do You Mean and Hotline Bling to calm down before Ariana releases. The first two are peaking radio, hopefully Hotline Bling will be close to peaked by then

LOL I mean in radio, more specifically pop, not sales. I think What Do You Mean will start falling early next week, if not sooner, and The Hills is already down to double digit spincreases on pop, and falling on urban and rhythmic. Sales, they definitely aren't done, but I hope Focus can still have a big lead at #1 for the week, like Drag Me Down (or even What Do You Mean). I think the possible main problem with it will be the video

GO!

With 5 weeks left could The Weeknd have 3 songs on the Top 10 year-end?

With 5 weeks left could The Weeknd have 3 songs on the Top 10 year-end? It's possible, but not likely, at least not on my spreadsheet. The above hypothetical includes all 5 weeks and 2 songs just missed the top 10. But there is going to be some point differences (for better or for worse) so we'll have to see how it all plays out. The Hills will definitely benefit from the added sales and streams of the remixes, but will it be enough to catch up to songs like Earned It and Cheerleader? Probably not. Can't Feel My Face probably won't maintain it's current weekly point total, so, if anything, the hypothetical chart performance is probably on the high end of things. But again... the official numbers could fall in his favor.

Looks like Taylor's camp is jumping on the remix train for #1. I'm super impressed with Wildest Dreams performance on iTunes, considering how many people already own the album. I'm anxious to see how high it will climb on both the H100 and the YE charts.

Remixes for Wildest Dreams and The Hills, and more than likely one for WDYM tomorrow (I guess the Fall Out Boy and Demi one too but not as relevant). Remix mania rn

I was looking at the calendar... and it looks like i'll have my final YE update for this year on 11/17 (for chart dated 11/28)... which means there will probably be 3 more weeks after that before we'll get the official billboard list. AND the new chart year will be so new that it won't be worth updating the predictions until 3-4 weeks have passed.
what will we do with ourselves!?!?! read books?

This is a bit off topic, but this year actually had some great country songs. I liked country songs Love You Like That by Canaan Smith, Crash and Burn by Thomas Rhett, John Cougar John Deere John 316 by Keith Urban, and Lose My Mind by Brett Eldredge a lot. So not all country songs are bad. And yes the Buy Me A Boat song by Chris Janson sucks and I hate it a lot. What you all think of the country songs this year? I think its much better than last year, but nothing will ever beat Wagon Wheel by Darius Rucker in 2013. Also, I am not considering Sam Hunt as country BTW, he seems more Pop ish. So what do you all think?

They always wanna come but they never wanna leave.
