I think the writings on the wall for this single. I don't think it's going to go top 20 and it's definitely not going to create momentum or sell Albums. As a huge fan of Gloriana, I wish they would go ahead and try another single before summer starts coming to an end.

It did have a decent week, compared to some of the other songs in the 35-45 range, but I just can't see this getting much higher. And unfortunately it looks like several other artists might be in the same boat (having to pull the single and go with something else)--Easton, Love and Theft, Kip Moore...perhaps even David Nail, as his song has continued to slip back and rack up the weeks despite testing #1 at Callout America. A lot of the new female artists have also gotten caught in the shuffle--Leah Turner, Danielle Bradbery, Natalie Stovall...but we all know how much country radio loves its female artists!

Seeing the success of Kissed You Good Night, I think we all automatically assumed the singles thereafter would do just as well. Which got me thinking...did KYGN only do so well because it had national TV promotion on ABC Family and ABC (The Bachelorette)? Would it have struggled like any other Gloriana single if it were released without promotion?
Maybe that wasn't Gloriana's break out.
Does anyone else think Trouble (one of their new songs they've been performing this summer) could be it? Do they need to release a female driven single just like all the other girl/guy bands out there are doing? It's either all Tom or Tom & Rachel, maybe Rachel needs to give it a shot leading a radio single next go around.
I think they need a rockin song so people will want to crank it UP in the car. Best Night Ever has that momentum in the chorus, but I still personally can't decide if it's a slow song or a up-tempo one.
Love these three, I just want them to have all the success they deserve.

I don't know of anyone who assumed that. In fact, I think a lot of people were weary of them having another hit single from their previous album.

Honestly, I think they have chosen the wrong singles to follow WAH and KYGN. I also think KYGN was a break out hit and would have been without the TV exposure at least on the airplay chart. I have heard the youtube videos of the other songs they have been performing and I hope Trouble isn't the next single they release. I just don't think it stands out enough and I like it less than BNE. I do like Aint Runnin out of Summer but without hearing everything else I don't know if it would be the best choice or not. Some people I work with have told me they recorded a song called "Are You Ready For This" that is very good.

It's the intro to Trouble here:

^Thanks, I love the way "Are You Ready For This" sounds from the little I hear there. I had hoped BNE would be a hit for them but I just think after being out this long and it not making more of move up the charts, it's not going to be a big hit. I'm past ready for them to try something new.

Is this really about done? I don't follow the charts close especially in the summer when I am really busy. I've been hearing it on my local station a lot this past week and my thought was hey, I really like this song. I had not heard it before and wasn't sure who it was until I came here and saw this thread. Well it wouldn't be the first time that I heard and liked a song for the first time right when its chart run was ending.

This still has a negative bullet.I dont know when this will be going byebye but im thinking they probably wont get any higher. i hope it could turn into a hit though. it would be crazy if this could turn out like 'goodnight' and hit number 1! its been out for a while now though....

As I pointed out in the "Young In America" thread, "Best Night Ever" is done with a -104 bullet today on MB. I was afraid that an update this big in losses was coming eventually but it's still disappointing. It will go recurrent on Billboard this week with this marking it's 21st week in the top 60 and just one week remaining on MB.
It seems that Gloriana could never really sustain their momentum after the huge success of "(Kissed You) Good Night". This is the fourth time that a single of theirs has died in the 30's. They used to make this a regular habit with "Wanna Take You Home" (#34) being the last one in 2011. Just like Easton, I don't know what approach that Warner will take in terms of length of time till they try another lead single at radio.

Their bullet did take a bit of a downturn overnight, going from -60 to -103, but today's update was actually the first day they've lost any audience this week (-123k) so it's not a given that they'll go recurrent on Billboard (although I do agree that this is about done). Their losses will probably need to increase over the weekend in order for this to go recurrent on Monday's Billboard. Or they could still rebound a bit but I have my doubts there.

I realize that Warner would rather focus their efforts on making 1 huge artist over multiple huge artists, but I wish their radio reps would give equal push so Gloriana had a chance at being noticed. I really had high hopes for this song, and I try to never get my hopes up.

I really had high hopes for this song, and I try to never get my hopes up. I do think Warner has really pushed this, but it just never caught on with enough fans or radio PD's. Ever since this song was released it's had one of the worst sales per spin ratios of any song at radio, and even a discount to 69 cents didn't cause this one to sell any better than full-priced ($1.29) songs that were receiving similar amounts of radio play. Also, Warner has a lot on their plate right now. They did just add a third promo team to spread the artists around a bit but they have been working a lot of new artists to radio lately: Sheryl Crow (not new, but new to country), Cole Swindell, Frankie Ballard, Dan + Shay, Charlie Worsham, Hunter Hayes, Brett Eldredge, Jana Kramer, and Dean Alexander. Most labels are lucky if they can get 1 out of every 3 or 4 artists to truly break through and sustain momentum and Gloriana has never reached that point. This song might go recurrent on Billboard tonight, but they could give it a grace week too. I'm actually a little surprised that the label stuck with it so long because I felt it was fairly clear 2 months ago already that this was going nowhere, in regards to both sales and radio. It just didn't seem that enough PD's were very enthusiastic about this one, and fans weren't either. For me personally this song is just kinda 'there'--it doesn't stand out to me at all.

I thought Gloriana had all the "stop in the mid 30s" syndrome out of their system by now.

This has now officially gone recurrent on Billboard.

Looks like Gloriana will be choosing a new single this week.
