A couple of my songwriter friends this week have mentioned Reba is currently looking at songs for an upcoming album. Nice! In several interviews over the last year or so, I haven't gotten the impression that new music was high on her priority list. This is good news that they're at least beginning the process. Not that this is related at all (or maybe it is?), Starstruck just re-opened their writing wing earlier this month. www.musicrow.com/2014/03/starstruck-writers-group-opens-doors-again/

Reba also said in her CMHOF interview that Scott Borchetta had been emailing her about music around that time, I assume what Scott wants he gets so only a matter of time she'd start recording.

It's been way too long since her last album. I can't wait for something new to come out.

(I assume it's the same Shay Mooney from Dan and Shay). Does anyone know if the deluxe edition will be available at all stores or just a certain one? I know when they released Changed they did a ZinePak through Walmart, so maybe they will do the same this time around.

Lucy's tracklist looks really interesting! And hey! Lucie Silvas finally get her first country cut!!!! I can really see Lucy singing that song.
Same thing with Kacey's song. One of my favourites from her.
On the other hand, Rascal Flatt's tracklist looks so weird to me.

Billboard billboard 31m Listen to the exclusive album stream of @martinamcbride's 'Everlasting' here first: blbrd.co/1iS6UQW pic.twitter.com/eDjv6to2Ty Yay!! I am so excited to listen to this full thing! Everything she has released from it up to this point sounds great! Also, the last paragraph of that article really caught my eye: "Everlasting is McBride's debut release for her own label, Vinyl Recordings via Kobalt Label Services. She hinted that she might have another release out before years' end – a Christmas record. Her 1998 White Christmas album remains a country yuletide standard." I know she has been wanting to release another one for quite some time, so hopefully it will finally happen! (Also, I cannot remember for sure, but that may have been one of the things I said in my predictions for this year... Now all we need is a Grammy win for "Everlasting"! )

The Rascal Flatts album has some promising titles (although there's a few that sound a little less promising as well), and I love that the length of the record is quite long, so hopefully that works out so that even with a few clunkers, there'll be more than enough solid material to counter-balance it. "Rewind" is a big step in the right direction, so I'm definitely intrigued to hear what they've come up with for the new record.

You can Listen to some of the tracks on the Working Man's Poet: Tribute to Merle Haggard CD here www.iheart.com/talk/show/139-Working-Mans-Poet-A-Tribut/it only has these tracks "Are The Good Times Really Over" - Jason Aldean "That's The Way Love Goes" - Dustin Lynch "Let's Chase Each Other Around The Room" - Thompson Square "Footlights" - Joe Nichols "Misery And Gin" - Randy Houser but just based off them tracks this might not be a bad album as i thought it would be it sounds like a real tribute album done right

Downloaded the Merle Haggard tribute album this morning, Working Man's Poet. I must say I was very pleased. This was a tribute album done right, some deep cut songs (not just same 5 or 10 everyone knows). Also would like to point out Jason Aldean sounds EXCELLENT on the 2 songs he does, steals the album IMO. His covers of "Going Where The Lonely Go" and "Are The Good Times Really Over" are fantastic. If only he would put out albums with this kind of stripped down quality, or at least a few songs. Having said that, anyone ever wonder what some of today's artist would sound like if they cut music more traditional sounding? Listen to Thompson Square cover "Let's Chase Each Other Around The Room". Definately sounds like an old-school dancehall song from the 70's. They sound fantastic two-steppin. I've always thought some of today's talent is drowned out by loud guitars, overproduction, effects and big business. oh well...

Thanks for the recommendation :) Taylor Swift's RED wasn't on there until about a year after the release. They didn't want to kill her sales, which are obviously still strong. But that's by far the exception than the norm.

Sorry for the double post but this deserved its own mention,
Tim McGraw's "Sundown Heaven Town" will be out September 16. So I'd bet money they'll have a second single out before album release, no matter what "Lookin' For That Girl" does from now to then.

I also noticed that Eric Church's "Outsiders" is not on there either, and according to Billboard's Top Country Album charts, Outsiders is still #2, so maybe the labels are deciding what can go to spotify on a case-by-case basis.

Yes, that's all based on artists' power and control so even if Garth Brooks allows his songs to iTunes as "album only" downloads at some point, don't expect them to ever be on Spotify.
