^Kind of curious what Toby's new material could sound like. I think he's done getting #1's these days, but he still has released some solid singles like Hope On The Rocks and Bullets In The Gun. Toby is practically a traditional singer in today's Country market.

I was beginning to get curious if this would be the first year without a Toby Keith studio album release since 2004. He's been pretty religious about his annual album releases, even down to the last six all dropping in October.

December 9th....the same day as Carrie Underwood's Greatest Hits. That should be an interesting week for sales figures.

This next album will probably do less than that. GH albums don't exactly sell a ton anymore these days, but Carrie should easily clobber Toby's opening week sales.

Toby's never done a Live album. That would be great instead of another studio album that has a few good songs and the rest phoned in.

Toby put out a compilation package called 5 Rounds on June 10th that included his past 5 albums, so I doubt this is another hits package. I'm guessing a new studio album since time was running out on his usual "1 new album per year goal".

He might want to bump it up to December 2nd if he thinks he has a chance of a #1 country cd.

Toby's last two albums opened at #3 and given his slide in popularity with country radio in the past couple years, I doubt he cares much if he can add another #1 CD to his list (which already includes 10 of those, anyway).

Interesting. Probably a little early, but oh well. Maybe this is where they'll stick "All Alright" and another new song or two (or possibly an older album track that gets released as a single).

Is It really necessary to have a greatest hits album after three albums?

Given that they're with a new label and Atlantic had rights to do such a release, I'm not surprised. ZBB might even license the most recent single for it (But I doubt it).

In all honesty, they have enough hits for a GH's CD.
1. Chicken Fried- 2008 2. Whatever It Is- 2009 3. Toes- 2009 4. Highway 20 Ride- 2010 5. Free- 2010 6. As She's Walking Away (with Alan Jackson)- 2010 7. Colder Weather- 2011 8. Knee Deep (ft Jimmy Buffett)- 2011 9. Keep Me In Mind- 2011 10. No Hurry- 2012 11. Goodbye In Her Eyes- 2012 12. Jump Right In- 2013 13. Sweet Annie- 2013 14. All Alright- 2014
I don't think "The Wind" will make the cut but then again it might. I think "All Alright" will be included. We shall see a list soon but I agree it is a little soon for GH CD from ZZB.

I think the only reason that a ZBB Greatest Hits album is coming out is because all of their albums up until now were released via Atlantic, so this is a way for Atlantic to 'cash in' on the band and their hits over the holiday season, now that their albums will be distributed by Universal/Republic beginning next year. I wouldn't be surprised if this release didn't have anything to do with the ZBB since they are no longer affiliated with Atlantic anymore. I don't believe the Grohl Sessions EP was affiliated with Atlantic at all so I don't know that Atlantic could include "All Alright" on the album even if they wanted to...Atlantic probably doesn't have the rights to the ZBB's new songs from the EP onward unless, like rsmatto said, Zac gives them the okay (and I too doubt that he would). ETA: Yikes, I see that Amazon has the price listed at $18.98. That seems a little steep if they were to only include the band's hits prior to "All Alright", so I wonder if Atlantic decided to stick a few album tracks on there as well?

Is It really necessary to have a greatest hits album after three albums? During the 1980s, Eddie Rabbitt, Don Williams, and Michael Johnson put out greatest hits albums after TWO studio albums were released.

Sorry if this has been bought up before, or not the right thread for the question.
But what type of numbers do you think Garth will put up for his new album in its first week, he's not with Itunes, but hes is with Ghost Tunes.
He is also at all retail.
He has the November 11th date to himself, the following week, there's One direction then Eminem after that.
I dont see him doing some crazy number for the first week, but I also dont see him putting up mediocre numbers.
I think selling about 500 thousand for his first week, and opening at No1 on Billboard top 200 sounds about right? and him and his label will be pleased with that.

I'm not crazy about the practice either but don't mind as long as they do it like last years Vince Gill & Paul Franklin's "Bakersfield" where they offered the bonus tracks on iTunes for individual track sales.

Toby has released a new CD every year since 2001, and I didn't think he could go without putting one out this year... I have found his material to be just ok, since he started his own label.. I enjoyed Trailerhood, it's a fun little song...
