Are The Osborne Brothers just Brothers Osborne? Two separate acts. Brothers Osborne is on EMI Nashville, but Ken has The Osborne Brothers listed as a Pinecastle Records artist.

I wonder if that's the same Osborne Brothers as the old bluegrass duo (of "Rocky Top" fame)? They haven't recorded in decades, so it seems unlikely, but then again so would another group sharing the same name. Though if there's going to be any more new music put out by Osborne siblings this year, I sure wish it was SHeDAISY.

Mr. Holmes is correct, it is the old Osborne Brothers that made their career famous through bluegrass. This new project is interesting as it was recorded at the tail end of their commercial popularity but never released in the mid-1970's. Now, 40 years later, it is finally seeing the light of day: bluegrasstoday.com/pinecastle-to-release-lost-osborne-brothers-recordings/.

With the turning of the calendar page, here's another album update: February 4 Liza Anne | The Colder Months (Independent) Wait, I know her! She goes to school with me and she's been posting about this album for months on her personal Facebook page. So neat that she's big enough on the indie scene to garner some attention about her album release! I need to check out the album because she is a fantastic vocalist. Her cover of "Wrecking Ball" by Miley Cyrus was haunting. If anyone is looking to check out some new music, you should try Liza Anne out!

Been listening to the iTunes previews of David Nail's I'm A Fire and I love it. Really feels like this is going to be a big album for him. I'm resisting the temptation to listen until album release day. He's been my #1 since his first song...I'm sure the album will be amazing.

Yeah, I've listened to the 1:30 of "The Secret" a hundred times...I want the whole song so bad. It seems very strong. As a preliminary listen, "The Secret", "Counting Cars", and "Kiss You Tonight" look to be real standouts. Big fan of Nail too, was drug to a Taylor Swift concert (shoot me) but I at least got to watch Nail open for her. Just him and two band members, very awesome.

I just got Dolly Parton's "Blue Smoke" today in the mail from Australia! This is like Christmas! I can't wait til its out in the USA in may when everyone can hear it! She has great songs she wrote, a Bob Dylan cover, a Bon Jovi cover of a Church of God style Gospel song, and duets with Kenny Rogers and Willie Nelson. This is her best CD in many years. Dolly I consider my "musical mother." By saying that I mean she is who introduced me to music and educated me on Country and is a big part of the person I became today. If it wasn't for Dolly I may have not grown up a Country music fan and loved the artists I found after her. Dolly's TV show in 87-88 was the mecca for me and I first learned who so many legends were like Haggard, Travis (new then), Emmylou, Kenny, etc. Then I looked forward and still to do every Summer visiting her home in Dollywood. Dolly is more than my hero, all time favorite singer, she is part of who I am. I just hope shes around for a long long time like Kitty Wells was into her 90s. I just can't imagine life without her just like I can't without my parents. So this Dolly CD to me is more than just music, it's new life lessons for her to teach me.

I'm so happy from this news. There was always rumblings they would get back together eventually but finally it has come true. Their last single was "Ain't Wastin' Good Whiskey On You" peaked at #36 in late 2005. Can't wait for the new album .

It looks like Randy Rogers Band is releasing a live album on April 15, according to AllAccess.
The project is titled Homemade Tamales-Live At Floore's and the label is listed as Room 8 Records/Crescendo Music Projects/Thirty Tigers Records.
So this would seem to confirm that they're no longer with MCA.

For anybody who is interested, today the second preview track from Martina's album was revealed! It is Elvis' "Suspicious Minds." I know it's not really country, but it IS Martina, so this whole album just falls in a bit of a gray area that I do not know how to classify So, I'll put this here anyway! About the song, I love it! I am not familiar with the original, but I love the lyrics, as well as the way the instruments and vocals were mixed and produced. Throw in the very prominent Baritone Sax, and I emphatically approve! Way to go, Martina! I particularly enjoy the way this one sounds if you analyze it in the light of the previously released song, "If You Don't Know Me By Now". The album seems to have a very nice feel so far. They are both such a new sound, but I think she sounds like she is having fun with it.
