I just recently heard that "Coming To Your City" will be the first single off Big & Rich's sophomore album. Kind of odd considering they've already shot a video for "8th of November".

There has been speculation about this because Big & Rich have a shot a performance of "Coming To your City" for the season premiere of VEGAS. According to their street team, "The 8th Of November" is still the lead single.

It is also the song they use during the Chevy truck commercial that features Big & Rich and Cowboy Troy.

Hmm... I thought some of the reasoning (although a small part of it) was that the "8th" would be the lead and the album would be released on Nov. 8th.

NASHVILLE, TN -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 08/16/2005 -- Warner Bros. Records is pleased to announce that Big & Rich will release their new album, "Comin' To Your City," on November 15th. Big Kenny, John Rich and Paul Worley all returned to the producers' chairs for this new 13-track release. The title track to "Comin' To Your City" will serve as the first single; both the song and the accompanying video will hit country radio and video outlets in September. The sophomore release is the highly anticipated follow-up to Big & Rich's debut album "Horse Of A Different Color," which is certified double platinum by the RIAA in recognition of sales of more than two million units.
"Comin' To Your City" features such crowd pleasers as the uptempo tracks "Blow My Mind" and the title track. "Never Mind Me" is a beautiful ballad that has not only the blended harmonies that Big & Rich are known for, but it showcases Big Kenny's rich baritone and John Rich's angelic tenor. Country music legend Kris Kristofferson lends his vocal talent to the opening narrative of the haunting "8th Of November," a true story about Vietnam vet Niles Harris and the fateful day on November 8, 1965, when the 173rd Airborne Brigade was ambushed by over 1,200 Vietcong during Operation Hump.
Currently Billboard magazine's reigning New Country Duo/Group Artist of the year, Big & Rich has been recognized by the Country Music Association, the Academy Of Country Music, the Grammys and CMT, receiving various nominations for their debut album "Horse Of A Different Color," and have several nods in the current round of CMA Award voting. Lifetime Television also honored the duo with their "Champions For Change Award" for bringing the serious issue of spousal abuse to light in their song "Holy Water."
Big Kenny and John Rich burst onto the scene in 2004 with their genre-busting brand of country music without prejudice. Big & Rich's defiance of country music conventions and their fusion of gospel, rock, metal and hip-hop ignited a media firestorm that landed the boys on the cover of Entertainment Weekly, on the stages of "The Tonight Show," "Good Morning America" and the "Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular" and in the pages of Rolling Stone, USA Today, Blender, Tracks and GQ.
The galactic duo is set to roll out their new album in their usual Big & Rich style. Big & Rich is currently on the road with Brooks & Dunn's 34-city national Deuces Wild Tour, which concludes on October 30th in West Palm Beach, Florida. Look for the new album, "Comin' To Your City," in stores November 15th.

It looks like Dustin J. was right to begin with! From the commercial alone, "Coming To Your City" sounds like a strong lead off single.
TRACK LIST:
"The Freak Parade" "Comin' To Your City" "Soul Shaker" "Never Mind Me" "Caught Up in the Moment" "Leap of Faith" "I Pray for You" "Filthy Rich" "Jalapeno" "20 Margaritas" "Blow My Mind" "Slow Motion" "8th of November" (featuring Kris Kristofferson)
"I Pray For You" has been previously recorded by Big Kenny and John Rich as solo acts.

Read today where Comin To Your City will be used by College Gameday on ESPN. They will be live on Sept 3 I beleive in Pittsburgh for the Notre Dame and Pittsburgh game. This will be great exposure for the guys! some more info on the ESPN College Game Day connection.... BIG & RICH AND COWBOY TROY'S NEW SONG TO SERVE AS SHOW (ESPN COLLEGE GAME DAY) OPEN This season's show open will feature a specially recorded version of the soon-to-be-released song "Comin' To Your City" by genre-busting artists Big & Rich and Cowboy Troy. The new theme song, with altered lyrics specific to College GameDay, will capture all the elements of the show -- the spirit and excitement of the on-site atmosphere and fan anticipation -- as it kicks off a full-day of college football action. The show open will feature a video montage of the band performing the song and college football highlights, which will change week-to-week. The video footage of the band, which will remain the same throughout the season, will follow Big Kenny and John Rich of Big & Rich and Cowboy Troy as they leave their locker room and walk through the tunnel to take the field and perform, reminiscent of players taking the field to play on Saturdays. The original version of "Comin' To Your City," scheduled to begin radio play in September, will be the first single from the upcoming Big & Rich CD, also titled Comin' To Your City, which is due in stores on November 15.
