I finally got around to listening to the Think Like A Man Too soundtrack the other day and I have to say I really enjoyed it. My favorites are "Wonderful," "Suitcase," "See That Boy Again," "I Want You," "Kiss And Make Up," "Power Back" and "Cargo". Actually, I am diggin' the album as a whole but will need to listen to it more to say if I like it as much as My Life II.
Either way, it got me even more pumped for The London Sessions. Although I can't stand Sam Smith's music at all and Emeli Sandé is a tad hit or miss for me (I'm waiting to see the rest of the producers/songwriters who will be contributing to this record), I do have a good feeling for this project... hopefully Mary will serve some of her most profound music to date.

I could so hear Mary doing a duet with MNEK or something written by him.

I have NEVER been as excited for a Mary J Blige record as I am for this one. What a great article. I hope they put a DVD out with the album but it sounds like footage will be available in some form, so I am happy.

Not so keen on the inclusion of Rodney but really interested by this new direction she's taken. Finally ditching a lot of those washed up American producers she blindly clung to.

It sounds great but I would like her to still have some out and out R&B songs on the record. Suitcase showed that there's still a place for MJB using contemporary R&B sounds. It'd be great if it were a blend of deep house, contemporary R&B, soul and more experimental songs.

Adele J. Blige revealed 2 titles on her interview with The Guardian:
“Pick Me Up” (Naughty Boy/Emeli Sandé) “Therapy” (Sam Smith/Napes)
Best album since 2005?

This has the potential to be one of her best reviewed albums ever just because it's like "OMG A CONTEMPORARY FEMALE R&B ACT GOING OUTSIDE THE BOX!!!"

Ehh.. the dance sound she's going after has its roots in black DJs out of Chicago.. so that sound is definitely not attributable to white people. Then that Northern soul sound is... soul music.

I just listened to her duet with Disclosure, and it sounds like the house stuff that was popular when Mary first broke through in the early 90s. Interesting how trends go full circle, but I'm not looking forward to "Crunk 'n B" returning next decade; I hope that's one trend never repeated.

I mean, it's cute. But it's nothing amazing. I was hoping for way more fire vocally.

I like the new single! In celebration, I'm going to rank Mary's albums; I feel like it happens less often for her than it does other divas. Also, I haven't listened to Think Like a Man Too, so it's not included.
Least Fav: Growing Pains Share My World Mary My Life The Breakthrough Stronger With Each Tear My Life II (The Journey Continues) No More Drama What's The 411?
Fav: Love & Life (Not Today, Ooh!, and Love @ 1st Sight were my JAMS back in '03!!! Also Willing & Waiting, Let Me Be the 1, and Ultimate Relationship)

I don't like Love & Life either. It's the only one of her albums that I pretty much never listen to.
My ranking: Share My World What's the 411 My Life No More Drama The Breakthrough My Life II (This album really grew on me.) Growing Pains Mary (I used to like this way more, but over time it's kind of fallen into the background. It's still a great album obviously.) Stronger with Each Tear Love and Life

I'm'curious why Love & Life is at the bottom or your list It's good album, it's got some jams, but overall I can't listen to it without skipping some tracks. Her other albums are just better.

Love & Life is by far her most underrated album. The negativity surrounding it only happened when the album turned out to be her first "flop" moment. It was actually miles better than it's predecessor, No More Drama, which is definitely the worst album of her career. The album has held up a lot better than more of her previously released material; and if she wanted to continue to release her "hip hop soul" shit, the sound of that album is probably the closest to what she should channel.

Stronger With Each Tear is easily my least favorite Mary album. It's like they just threw out a bunch of songs so she'd have an album out for the holidays in 2009.

"Kitchen" was amazing though. I would have taken it as the lead single.

I still listen to "Kitchen" and "In The Morning," and that's pretty much it.
