My favorite song from Lady Antebellum's latest album, Golden, name-checks a lot of hit country song titles in each chorus, beginning with the 1980s, moving to the 1990s, and finishing with the 2000s. I thought it would be fun to throw all the titles in a poll and let people pick their favorites.

I like this. What a nice tribute to all those songs & those decades. That worked out pretty well.

I actually decided to download this back in November. Wasn't the biggest fan of the deluxe version of Golden, but I love this song. I think it's because I'm 24. I love the older stuff just like everyone else. But when that last chorus started; I said WOW. This is awesome. I didn't love all the songs it mentiones, but just the fact a song mentioned the songs that I grew up with, was such a unique thing. Now I see why so many people older than myself love the songs that bring up those songs from the 70's or 80's. Cool Thread .indulgecountry :).

...are my absolute favorites, with "Old Flame", "Don't Rock the Jukebox", "Love Without End, Amen", "Independence Day", "The House That Built Me", and "Remember When" as honorable mentions.

I only voted for 5 songs to keep it simple, but I like quite a few of these songs. The ones I picked were, in no particular order:
1. Forever and Ever, Amen 2. Strawberry Wine 3. What Hurts the Most 4. Before He Cheats 5. The House That Built Me

Just listened to this. I can relate, haha.
They also mention "The Dance" by Garth Brooks after Don't Rock the Jukebox, and "Amazed" by Lonestar after Meet in the Middle.

They also mention "The Dance" by Garth Brooks after Don't Rock the Jukebox, and "Amazed" by Lonestar after Meet in the Middle. Dangit. I checked the lyrics online so I wouldn't miss anything and a lot of them have those lines as: "And the radio played, don't rock the jukebox and we danced" and "Time marches on, again and again, meet in the middle and the maze." Oops.

I Was Country When Country Wasn't Cool Forever and Ever, Amen Swinging He Stopped Loving Her Today Don't Rock the Jukebox Strawberry Wine Love Without End, Amen Time Marches On Independence Day Meet in the Middle I Hope You Dance You'll Think of Me What Hurts the Most The House That Built Me Love Story Don't Blink I Saw God Today
So many of these songs remind me of my childhood. I only listened to country as a kid because that's what Mom and Dad liked. I grew up singing so many of these. Very nice song by Lady Antebellum. Maybe it's time to give them another chance.

Voted for (in chronological order aside from my #1): 1. Strawberry Wine Forever and Ever, Amen Don't Rock the Jukebox Meet in the Middle Does He Love You Independence Day I Hope You Dance You'll Think of Me What Hurts the Most Before He Cheats The House That Built Me Love Story Forever and for Always I Saw God Today I like several others on the list as well, but the ones above are my favorites. So many of these songs remind me of my childhood. I only listened to country as a kid because that's what Mom and Dad liked. I grew up singing so many of these. Very nice song by Lady Antebellum. Maybe it's time to give them another chance. Golden is, imo, their best album yet. It even trumps their debut. I was beginning to get very meh on them as well, but their new album is pretty fantastic.

I was very disappointed by their third album after loving the first and mehing on the second. I've heard good things about this album, so I think it's time to try it.

Alright I usually don't like name checking songs but I'm pleasantly surprised after hearing this one. Oh and if Before He Cheats is the definitive crossover song of the 00s, then lets not forget the definitive crossover song of the 90s:

Thanks for sharing this song, I love it! I love how they try to link the song titles together into phrases.
I hope you dance, you'll think of me What hurts the most, before he cheats I don't want this night to end The house that built me, remember when Love story, she's my kind of rain She's country, forever and for always Don't blink, I saw God today And the radio played
