Ok this is in the "Shoes" thread: "Like We Never Loved At All" (Faith) and "Shoes" (Shania) both go for adds at country radio this week. Faith debuted at or below #50 already on Billboard. So is that her official debut even though she is just now going for adds OR will the first week charted after the add date be the official Billboard chart debut? Thanks. :)

I've always understood that the debut is the first week charted after the add date.

I've always understood that the debut is the first week charted after the add date. The song will have a 3 in the "weeks on" column on the chart this coming week. It will be pulled after 20 weeks if it's below #15 and dropping. Billboard won't make any distinction between weeks before the add date and weeks after. So I don't understand why its debut isn't just the first week it appears on the chart, regardless of release date.

Billboard is supposed to have a policy where if it's off the chart for 6 months in a row, it gets another 20 weeks to chart if it's released as far as I know
