When is he going to release another album? The album is already finished. Adam is going to be out of the country for the second leg of his tour with Queen so I don't expect a single until after he's done. The tour ends in Feb.

Ewww I hate Warner Brothers. Probably my second least favorite label after Hollywood. They can't be any worse than RCA so I'm hopeful. Rob Cavallo is chairman for WB and he and Adam have a working history together. He produced several of Adam's songs on his 1st album. So I guess it could be seen as a good thing to have the head huncho invested in you. Max Martin is also producer of Adam's album. We'll see. ETA: LMAO I just noticed the heading subject change. :)

EnGANGED LOLOL. For a second though, I thought it was Geri Hollowell and was like WTAF?!? Well, shit. This is why I rarely post from my phone, because I can't type on it lol. They can't be any worse than RCA so I'm hopeful. Rob Cavallo is chairman for WB and he and Adam have a working history together. He produced several of Adam's songs on his 1st album. ETA: LMAO I just noticed the heading subject change. :) People on here love to hate on RCA, but I actually think they are one of the better record labels. RCA's biggest flaw is that they tend to stunt the creative process of the artist in hope for financial gain, but if they believe in a project, they put a lot of money, time and effort into it. Warner just seems to be there. Are there any artists other than Bruno Mars/Ed Sheeran that are doing well on Warner? They seem to be out of touch with the times; Warner artists aren't on Vevo, and it took them a lot to agree to Spotify. Although at least Adam has a good relationship with Rob Cavallo. And Max Martin is a pop god so I'm glad they are still working together.

And Max Martin is a pop god so I'm glad they are still working together. Jason Derulo? Malkemore? lol. I don't know. They don't seem to have a whole lot of pop artists that matter. They seem to lean more alt/rock, rock. Their artists also have been with them for a long time. Maybe having a few pop artists could be a good thing. Adam could get more attention. Adam told Ryan Seacrest he got a great deal. What does that mean? Does it mean he was given the best people? Max Martin as producer. Tove Lo, Savan Kotecha (If I Had You, Bang Bang)as part of his writing team and who knows who else. Did he get good financial deal, a good A&R team. At this point I would like for him to be with a label that will allow him to be him. Adam put together a good album with Trespassing. Critics like Billboard thought the album was way ahead of it's time. Adam snagged Pharrell and Nile Rodgers a year before they hit it big again. Pharrell said in an interview it was his work with Adam that helped with his current sound. He took the demo tapes to Daft Punk who loved it and hired him for Get Lucky. Who knows maybe Adam will put out a alt/rock album? lol. Maybe he got his own label and WB is distributing. I hope he officially announces something soon.

Trespassing had at least a couple of radio friendly singles that could've done some damage in radio, and felt current alongside retro sounding hits. The label completely fucked it up by releasing a horrible lead single and then not reacting properly. I was also sad that his geek at Glee and as guest mentor weren't used to promote anything... They could've been a great platform for a promo of Lay Me Down -the smash waiting to happen! Anyway He's at a great place now though, with lots of recognition and applau$e for his work with Queen, but I really think that Pop music is losing on a big star!!

American Idol 14 New York Auditions Promo Ft Adam Lambert.American Idol season 8 alum, Adam Lambert, stepped in to take Keith Urban place next to Jennifer Lopez and Harry Connick Jr. on the judges panel in New York City auditions, which will air on FOX Thursday January 15 (8/7c PM) Although Adam had played mentor in both seasons 9 and 13,it is an Idol alum’s–first time a guest judge in Idol history! Watch TWO NEW American Idol 14 promos featuring Adam Lambert filling in for Keith Urban in New York City. Harry expresses disappointment that he wasn’t on the judges panel when Adam initially auditioned back in 2009. He asks the singer if he’d recreate the moment. Adam Lambert returns to ‘Idol’ this week, take a look back at his audition and best performancesI’ve been watching American Idol for more than decade and few contestants have made a longer-lasting impression than Adam Lambert. He is what you expect to see from a show like Idol but don’t usually get. He’s got the showmanship, the flair and the voice of a superstar. It’s no surprise that to this day he’s one of the most successful Idol contestants. Can you believe he didn’t even win his season? But it’s all good, he’s got a Grammy nomination, number one albums, appearances on TV shows, and he tours internationally with a little band named Queen. And to think he even auditioned with one of their songs. This week, Adam returns to the show that kickstarted his career but now as a guest judge. So, sit back, relax and let’s go back to a time when Idol showed us real jaw-dropping talent. I can't wait, it sounds like it should be good. Kinda crazy that within 24 hours after the RCA news broke WBR contacted him.

Adam Lambert Has No Trouble Saying No To American Idol Hopefuls
Just because Adam Lambert is a former American Idol contestant, does not mean he’s going to be an easy sell when he joins Jennifer Lopez and Harry Connick Jr. on the American Idol judges panel. In this new preview of tonight’s (January 15) New York City auditions, Adam demonstrates the many ways he can say no.

I'm glad he's working with Max Martin again. Songs like "Whataya Want From Me" and "If I Had You" were the best sound for him (that I've heard so far, anyway).

Kicking myself for not going to the Queen concert when it came through last year. I wonder what direction the new album will take?
ETA: I guess I could have read a little of the thread regarding the direction in sound, first, before I posted this. Ha-ha.

Although with Max on board, they must be aimed squarely at radio. I'm excited to hear the direction too.

Good for him. The attention from the Queen tour has done wonders for him. Seems like they're really investing a lot in this project. Would be cool to see him have a comeback after all this time.
What's really interesting is that just 5 years ago we were talking about America's hesitation to support an openly gay man attempting to launch a pop music career. Now we have Sam Smith who's one of the biggest acts in the world right now. Good to know that shouldn't be a barrier to success for him anymore.
