Adam Lambert Working With Max Martin on New AlbumThe former "Idol" finalist has headed to Sweden to work on new music with the veteran pop expert.
Adam Lambert's third studio album -- his first since leaving RCA Records last summer -- is currently being worked on by pop super-producer Max Martin, and a handful of ace songwriters, in Sweden.
Martin, who has helmed pop smashes from Britney Spears, Katy Perry, Maroon 5, Justin Bieber and countless other mainstream superstars, co-produced two songs for Lambert's 2009 debut album "For Your Entertainment," including the hit single "Whataya Want From Me." Martin did not contribute to Lambert's sophomore album "Trespassing," which debuted atop the Billboard 200 chart in 2012, but the "American Idol" finalist is linking back up with Martin for the follow-up.
"[Martin] just brought in a load of people that he trusts and that make good music, and just seeing what happens," U.K. singer-songwriter Joe Janiak, who recently co-wrote Ellie Goulding's "Divergent" soundtrack single "Beating Heart," tells Billboard. Janiak, a London native, was called to come out to Sweden early last week and work with a collection of song experts that was organized by Martin. "He's got a company which really focuses on getting the best young writers and getting them all together in one place, so that they can have a hotbed of creativity and spin ideas off of each other," Janiak adds of Martin.
One of the songwriters who has shared studio time with Lambert is Tove Lo, a Swedish artist who is currently making an impression in the U.S. with her debut EP, "Truth Serum." "He came to Sweden, he's been working with all the producers, the little collective out there, and having a really good time," Tove Lo tells Billboard of Lambert. "When you hear the fully produced stuff from the studio, that's one thing, but his voice is insane. I couldn't believe it."
There is no timetable for Lambert's next record, but Janiak says that Martin and co. have been able to conjure some special moments in the studio. "I think there are going to be big things on this record, because the focus is on really strong songwriting and performance and stuff like that," says Janiak. "They're really locking in on all of [Lambert's] strong points and just making him even better. I think that's definitely going to be an exciting one."Complete article via Billboard www.billboard.com/articles/columns/pop-shop/5944631/adam-lambert-working-with-max-martin-on-new-album?utm_source=twitter

This is so exciting! Adam sounds like he is happy with how the album is shaping up, which is good. Him working with Max Martin is making me freak out! I surely hope we don't have to wait for a long time to get the album. I'm hoping for a fall release.

I wonder who's footing the bill for the studio session. he's still not signed with new label, right?

Hope we have the Avicii song released first --as his 4th single probably? Although I'd rather have it as 3rd with an idol performance. This would set the stage perfectly for his comeback. The song already sounds like a smash in the Mixology commercials :)

Who gets a GH after 2 albums? It happens more often than you think. Record labels do this a lot once an artist has left or been dropped. I was looking the other day and SWV have at least as many official compilation albums as they had studio albums (they had three), and like this release I don't think any were authorized by the group themselves. It makes me wonder who buys the cheap compilations, though? If an artist has a big back catalogue, it makes sense, but it seems weird in this scenario. Especially since the second album didn't even have any "hits." Edit - OK, it's part of the "Playlist" series. Glad they aren't trying to market it as a serious Greatest Hits.

This must be a contractual obligation album.

This must be a contractual obligation album. No. It's a Sony Legacy release, from the series "Playlist: The Very Best of *insert artist name here*". It's not a real Greatest Hits release. Sony Legacy is regularly releasing these "Playlists" for their current and former artists. It's a way to monetize their back catalog.

Greatest Hits coming out in May Greatest Hits album by an artist with one hit song and two albums. That's crazy. Honestly, I'm sure his former label is just cleaning out the vault if it is being released by them. OKAY - reading more posts now and I see it is a "legacy" release. LOL! Anyway, it looks like he is going to go with a more cohesive team on this next album and not just a random group of "who is the hottest writer of the moment." He's two albums in and that really hasn't panned out for him yet. I look forward to seeing what he comes up with. He has the voice...he has just been lacking the songs (GREAT SONGS).

Adam Lambert Signs With New Label for Third AlbumWhen Adam Lambert hit Ryan Seacrest's radio show to chat about his temporary American Idol judging gig on Thursday, the Glammy One let it slip that he's already teamed up with a new label for his third album after parting ways with RCA a year ago. “I’m not going to say too much because I try to keep things under wraps,” Lambert told Seacrest. “I’m working on this album, I’m really excited about it. I got signed to another label, which I’m not going to reveal right now, but it’s a really good deal and it’s a good project. I’m working with an amazing executive producer." Seriously, as long as his new label is better at picking singles than RCA (not hard), I think he'll be back on radio. He's looking great these days!

All good news! Glad to see that even without many pop hits to his name, he still has this support.
If they are picking 3 Idol performances for his GH..."One"?? That was one of his worst. Where is "Whole Lotta Love"?

QUEEN + ADAM LAMBERT - Summer Sonic 2014 Tokyo concert was shown on WOWOW Japanese TV. Professional quality, about 14 minutes. 3 songs: Now I'm Here, Stone Cold Crazy and I Was Born To Love You were shown. There are rumors that a QUEEN + ADAM LAMBERT DVD may be in the works. There were 9 cameras at all the Q+AL concerts and for the Sydney concert that had 20 cameras where they announced the recording and filmed the audience. The show is about 2hrs and 30 mts long. vimeo.com/107350933v.youku.com/v_show/id_XNzkyNTcyNjU2.html babyjesusfilms 29 Aug 2014 One of the 20 cameras we had on the Sydney show. http://instagram.com/p/sRBHPqDLgs

29th September 2014 Press Release: Queen + Adam Lambert Announce European Tour / Important Pre-Sale InformationOn the heels of their wildly successful North American, Asian and Australian concert dates, Queen and Adam Lambert announce a six-week tour of the UK and Europe that begins in Newcastle on January 13. Check out all of the details below! Via Press Release: Queen + Adam Lambert to play UK and Europe in the New Year Following recent sold-out World dates Queen + Adam Lambert to play 21 shows in Europe Including seven UK concerts Tickets on sale beginning Friday 3 October QUEEN + ADAM LAMBERT today announced they are to play an extensive tour of the UK and Europe early in the New Year. In what is certain to be among next year’s most sought out music events, Queen + Adam Lambert will reign over a six-week long set of dates across Europe beginning mid January. ***Pre-Sales: If you are registered with QueenOnline, Adam Lambert’s Official Fan Club or The International Queen Fan Club, please check your e-mail inbox for pre-sale details now, as some PRE-SALES START TODAY! ***Having only earlier this month wound down a sold out world tour taking in North America, Australia, New Zealand, and outdoor festival stops in Korea and Japan, Queen + Adam Lambert are sparing no time in taking their critically-hailed partnership back on the road. Coming two years after May, Taylor and Lambert last performed a short tour together of the UK and Europe, this lengthier outing will see Queen + Adam Lambert perform 21 shows in 10 countries. The band’s tour opens in the UK at Newcastle Arena on January 13 and will see the band play a total of seven shows across the UK including London’s O2 Arena. The tour then takes in France, Germany, Netherlands, Austria, Belgium, Italy, Denmark, and Czech Republic and ends February 19 in Switzerland at Zurich’s Hallenstadion. Tickets for the UK shows will go on sale from 9.00am this coming Friday, 3rd October. All other concerts across Europe are on sale same time excepting Germany where sales begin the following day, Saturday October 4. Tickets available from venues and usual outlets. Reaction to the dates is expected to equal that seen at the announcement of their US shows where an on-sale rush for tickets saw the band sell out 24 dates in record time. Queen and Lambert matched the expectations, winning glowing reviews from fans and critics alike: “Guaranteed to blow your mind, indeed”. (Entertainment Weekly) “We were rocked, Queen is still the champion, and Lambert is a skilled voice to ensure that their music will remain live for a generation of fans”. (VH1)“Rejuvenated Queen reigns supreme. Bow down fans, your new Queen is worthy of your love and devotion”. (Edmonton Journal, Canada)“Queen guitarist Brian May, drummer Roger Taylor and newcomer Adam Lambert blew the roof off in an energetic rock extravaganza which pulled no punches. Their extraordinary musical talent showed no signs of waning”. (The Daily Telegraph, Sydney). “Queen and Adam Lambert delivered just over two hours of pure sensation straight into the nerves and bones of anyone fortunate enough to witness it. Freddie may be gone, but he would surely approve”. (Brisbane Times)
“Did they rock us? Oh YES!” (New York Daily News).Queen first teamed up with Adam Lambert in 2009 to perform the band’s rock anthem “We Are the Champions” on “American Idol’s” season’s eight finale. Lambert and Queen partnered again in 2011 at the MTV European Music Awards in Belfast. In the summer of 2012 they performed their first live concerts together with three sold-out shows in the UK at London’s Hammersmith Apollo as well as concert appearances in Russia, Ukraine and Poland. A further one-off performance together at the IHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas last September at which they effectively stole the show triggered a conversation between Adam, Roger and Brian to take the show on the road. Hollywood Reporter exclaimed, “Adam Lambert, Queen bring down the iHeart house. With the perfect mix of rock attitude mixed with style, theatricality, sex appeal and impressive vocal gymnastics, [Lambert] took the band’s music to new heights.” Now the winning combination of Queen + Adam Lambert follows with what will surely be an equally triumphant tour of the UK and Europe. And Lambert is keen to alert fans of the show changes that can be expected. “On the technical side, it’s definitely more of a production than two years ago,” he says. “We’ve had a lot more cities to visit and so I think we all decided to build up the visuals and the stage accordingly, and of course we do all the hits.” “We have a very interesting set design,” says Brian May. “It’s big and daring. We’re going to do it to the max.” he says. “Each time we’ve worked with Adam with our music, he’s just the most incredible front man,” Roger Taylor says. “He’s sensational. He has this amazing range, ’cause Freddie had a great range. Adam can really cover it. He’s an extraordinary singer and a real talent. I feel he fits into our sort of theatricality. It is very comfortable.” As for the future, it would seem the Queen + Adam Lambert partnership is likely, for now, to remain limited to their live collaborations. Lambert is currently in the final stages of writing and recording his third album. May and Taylor are getting ready their forthcoming album, Queen Forever, a new compilation set which includes previously unreleased material recorded with Freddie Mercury, released November 10. Queen has amassed a staggering list of sales, awards, and hall of fame inductions that is second to none. Record sales in the hundreds of millions of units, including an unprecedented string of number one albums and top-charting singles, continue to put Queen in the top ten of all-time iTunes sales. Earlier this year Queen were officially recognized as the first artist ever to sell over six million copies of an album in the UK with their Greatest Hits album, beating out even the Beatles’ Sgt. Pepper by close on a million copies, pointing to the astonishing fact that at least one in three British households now own a copy of the band’s original Greatest Hits collection. Adam Lambert’s stunning performances on the eighth season of American Idol are still widely regarded as some of the most riveting moments in the show’s history. His debut album For Your Entertainment earned him a Grammy Award nomination for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance. His second album, Trespassing, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard charts. His subsequent tour took Lambert from Australia to South Africa, throughout Asia and Eastern Europe and culminated in a sold-out arena show in Helsinki, Finland. In 2013, Lambert appeared as a guest star on the hit TV series, GLEE. He is currently in the final stages of writing and recording his third album. He's gotten so hot over the years. He's my white boy crush. He has this cool sexiness that permeates everything he does. And it helps that he sings and performs as well as he does. I am looking forward to his next album.

I hope the Queen + Adam Lambert UK tour doesn't mean the album is being put on hold until after it's over.

I'm so happy to see that Adam is getting such good reception in his teaming with Queen. I think it's quite a good match! I'm just hoping that Adam can make a comeback. He has all it takes to become a big star. And I'll repeat my mantra for the past year or so (sorry): why the hell wasn't Let Me Down released as a single??!!! It is such a gem and I think could've been more successful than Hey Brother or Addicted to you. Argh!

It's amazing that he auditioned with a Queen song and now he has gotten the opportunity to actually perform with Queen multiple times.
