Anyway, so glad to see that Shakira and Jason got their debuts in. I thought it would take forever for the former.

I guess now the chart is really behind, seeing that "How I Feel" is still on the chart over "Can't Hold Us", which has been on the CHR top 40 even WITH Recurrents both last week and this week.

Nah, that's just once again them getting rid of "older" songs a little bit faster than on the overall chart. See also: Summertime Sadness.

Kind of figured that Chris Wallace would turn up in Breakout Land rather than debut outright, but in any case there he is.

Lahey's Lucky Star What, because I didn't respond right away as soon as I saw Chris was a breakout. Didn't really feel the need to comment, I already knew he was gonna get played this week. Glad to see him as a breakout, hopefully that really kickstarts him on radio!

So things are still behind on the AT40, so "How I Feel" and "Alone Together" should be shown the door for sure next week. "Happy" by Pharrell should break in at that time. I'm surprised to see "Can't Hold Us" drop out as the longevity crown now goes to "Blurred Lines". Chris Wallace has a breakout with "Keep Me Crazy", which has been on the Mediabase chart for five months, I suppose. Last year, "Remember When" spent a total of four months on the survey, only peaking at #29. Well, it's not the only one that spent that long with a low peak position.

As for the 2 for 1, I wanted to hear a Lady Gaga song, and they play R. Kelly instead.

On the matching Mediabase chart, she was #39. Remember, AT40 will be at least a couple of weeks behind the most recent Mediabase chart - yes, it fell out of the Top 40 on the chart from this past Sunday, but that's not the chart that would be compared to the one in this show.

They also played The Script's For The First Time after #19. What's up with 2 extras in a row after #30? And there
was a bunch-up of extras at the end of the first hour and the beginning of the second.
Rihanna keeps charting even without a new album. But it is being planned. I read that she was
the first to be asked to sing on Timber. Miley gets back-to-back songs. Ryan said that MKTO
stands for Malcolm Kelley and Tony Oller, and also Misfit Kids and Total Outcasts.

I believe "Classic" is the duo's first appearance on AT40, seeing that "Thank You" was nowhere near this.

EDIT: Not even sure if this was mentioned, but one half of MKTO (Tony) co-starred with Demi Lovato before both of their music careers took off. Will he match his co-star's success? Only time will tell.

This was probably the only chance to play an R. Kelly song on AT40 since the same optionals are used on both CHR and Hot AC. All of Gaga's Top 40 hits (except for "Judas") have been played since last year, but they haven't played "Ignition" since 2006.

I never heard this weekend's version of Ignition before. At the very end it's similar when he says he
doesn't usually do this but here's a preview of the remix, but otherwise it sounded like a different song.
