How many people on this board know Emmylou's version? She's one of my 5 favorite singers, so she gets my vote -- I don't know the Shania song -- and Chely doesn't sound right on this one. She sounded very strong on The River, but not here, and I don't think she adds a lot to the song. It's a wonderful song, though, and always good to hear on the radio no matter who sings it.

Of course it was originally recorded by its writer, composer, and arranger...the one and only Chuck Berry, whose version will never be surpassed.

Whether his version will never be surpassed depends on how much you like Chuck Berry. But I know I tend to get attached to the first version of a song I hear, unless another one comes along that surpasses it by a good margin.

I like this, but I'm not familiar with any other versions. It's going for adds again on October 31st.

Chely's version isn't bad. I like the original version better, but she did a good job. Some of you not that familiar with the song may still remember the original was featured on the great "Pulp Fiction" soundtrack.

Is that the same Status Quo that sang Pictures of Matchstick Men about a hundred years ago? They covered C'est La Vie?
It goes to show you never can tell.

I don't care for CHely Wright. I believe the story in the Tennessean about her coaxing selected fan club members to lie about a relative in the military to promote BOMSUV was true.

Nixon didn't do the Watergate burglaries himself either. But he knew all about it.

If you'd read the article you would clearly see that she did know. She orchestrated things through her FC pres. and vice-pres. Will not argue this point. To each his own opinion. However, I am not a dork >:( She didn't do it ya dork....her fan club prez did!!!! Get it right.

I did read the article a long time ago, and it does look clear to me. But everybody is entitled to his own interpretation.
I predict the next comment on this thread will have the phrase "move on" in it.

I read the article and her response to what happened LONG ago. Why is it just being brought up now again anyway?

I just read an article about Galileo, the Church, and the earth revolving around the sun. If that can be brought up again, why can't Chely's dealings? Galileo was a lot longer ago.
Any confirmation out there about the Status Quo for me?
