Can someone answer me these two questions that I have been wondering?
First, I thought a single was released 12 weeks before the album came out. Well, Montgomery Gentry's latest album will be out next week. The single has barely been on the charts. I think it was released, what, 3 weeks ago? And now the album next week? Does anyone know why they're not giving the single enough time until the album comes out?
Second, Ray Scott's album is coming out November 22nd I just read. But this song, "My Kind Of Music", has done basically nothing on the charts. It's been stuck in the 50's for weeks on end. Does anyone think this song will go up the charts in the next month? I mean, if this song doesn't begin to take off, his album will practically sell very little.

Or Ray's album release date may be pushed back.

Montgomery Gentry's album is a greatest hits so it really dosen't matter when they release it. The name of the album is Something to Be Proud Of which if I am not mistaken has already hit number one so the name recognition should be enough to carry the album if not all the hits.
I have only heard the first 30 seconds of the Ray Scott song and have turned the channel each time.

Ahhh, I didn't think that it IS a greatest hits album, which should be enough to carry it. Thanks.

Most labels WOULD like to release a CD twelve weeks after the first single, but sometimes unusual things happen which could cause a CDs release date to be moved up twice.
Look nor farther that Gretchen's 'HFTP' CD, which had its released date moved UP twice because of the record-shattering performance of 'Redneck Woman', which earned her the #1 female vocalist of 2004 in last year's R&R.
She won't repeat this year, but finishing in the top three among female vocalists this year is nothing to sneeze at!!!!!
