Mixed? The media and social media have been pretty much merciless to her rendition.
This is off to a rocky start.

It was good though, I don't understand the scathing reactions. People can't stop drooling over Lady Gaga's yucky natural tone yet a truly unique voice gets thrown on the woodshed.

She sang well though. The main problem was that she changed the melody and that's the main reason of the complaints. At least she didn't mess up lyrics or sang off key

The filthy SJWs bullied Nelly into obscurity again, I really hate the world.

What a mess. I still listen to the Loose singles every now and then. Shame we've never gotten a proper followup (let's ignore her last studio album please).

She recently wrote an open letter to YouTube in regards to their pay structure for artists:

So she's confirmed to be fully independent meaning Interscope is finally out of the picture.

That comeback better be real good cause I'm done with her playing with our nerves. Like, a Calvin Harris cover, for real ?

I expect a full-on acoustic-ish LP then if she remains indie until the album comes out. I'd really like another moody album like Folklore but tbh I miss the Loose era music.. Say It Right still sounds like it came out today and I wish she revisits that sound in the new album.

It's honestly crazy and frankly unjust that she gave us Loose and then literally nothing else worse listening to ever again. Girl.

I'm currently giving The Spirit Indestructible another listen. That album is quite solid but the first two single choices were AWFUL. Whoever thought "Big Hoops" should've been a single, let alone the first, needs their head examined. Depending on whether she wanted to go a more hip-hop or electronic route for the album, "High Life," "Bucket List," or "Waiting for the Night" would've made MUCH better leads. Heck, even "Parking Lot" would've been better though I'm ok with that one being a later single.

Loose came out at a time when her, a Grammy-winning folk/alternative singer-songwriter, turned unexpectedly to the pop scenes by abandoning herself fully to the hottest producer at that time. I highly doubt if she could ever regain that level of success in pop music. That being said, collaboration with the top R&B artists like The Weeknd might be a smart move for her. I would love to see her reinventing that elastic voice again.

I think "Bucket List" would've made the most sense. It fit the theme and was more representative of the sound of the album.

Hadron Collider is out now on Blood Orange's "Freetown Sound" album, which dropped earlier than expected.

I want her to make whoa nelly pop music again. She could have success the way Sia is right now. Nelly Furtado is to me the truest of pop stars- incredibly melodic music that has quality and a meaning behind it. It's artists like her that make me love pop music. I need a comeback
