DROPPERSLana Del Rey - Summertime Sadness (from #40; 27 weeks on) Macklemore & Ryan Lewis featuring Ray Dalton - Can't Hold Us (from #38; 43 weeks on) Britney Spears - Perfume (from #36; 10 weeks on) Actually those are last week's droppers. This week's droppers are Fall Out Boy - Alone Together (From #39; 17 weeks on) Capital Cities - Safe And Sound (From #38; 33 weeks on) Flo Rida - How I Feel (from #32; 8 weeks on) BTW are you sure that "Show Me" isn't a Breakout (and, by default, the Subway Fresh Buzz Song of the week)? Also, one would wonder if Seacrest is back to acknowledging Singles Awareness Day since he's not with anybody as far as I know. And we should all be thankful he's not in Sochi with the NBC Olympics crew (unlike London the previous Olympics). It would be really awkward if he mentioned Bob Costas' eye infection as trending.

AT40 aired "I Need Your Love" by Ellie Goulding featuring Calvin Harris as an extra after song #13. The Chris Wallace extra was played after #12.

Also, one would wonder if Seacrest is back to acknowledging Singles Awareness Day since he's not with anybody as far as I know. That's a good one. Whatever he says, he certainly isn't bringing Julianne Hough to help him close out the show as he did on Valentine's Day weekend last year (they broke up just a month later.) Not all that much movement here; except for Shakira & Rihanna, nothing moves more than 5 notches. Another long-lasting hit ("Safe and Sound") falls out, with "Blurred Lines" probably next. Speaking of "Blurred Lines", when it was #1 and "Get Lucky" #2 Ryan made note of Pharrell Williams being the first artist to be on the top 2 songs since (he said) 1978; now Pharrell finally enters with his own hit. And this is the second show in a month with One Direction getting the 2 for 1 feature.

I guess Ryan made an exception for OutKast occupying the top two in 2004 with "Hey Ya!" and "The Way You Move", since both songs were, technically, solo hits for the two members (despite the duo receiving label credit).

My version of the show doesn't have "I Need Your Love" in it. I assume you get the International version. Premiere usually makes that first and tends to add an extra for U.S. stations depending on length.

Since they "recalibrated", the iHeart station seems to have a regular problem with the Wednesday night broadcast. I think this is the third week I've listened to it and, for the third week, they've played the first segment of hour 2 twice. A glitch like that every once in a while, I'm cool with. Now, it's just getting a little annoying. At least they're consistent, though.

Looking at the All + Recurrent Chart from 2 weeks ago, the AT40 Chart looks pretty much similar, aside from some songs that are either switched around or not even making The actual Top 40 Chart, but making AT40's Chart.
I don't understand how some songs can make AT40's Chart, but not on the other chart. Can someone please explain that one?

AT40 used to be really representative of the Current+Recurrent chart, until about a year ago. Then, they started dropping recurrent songs earlier, and debuting songs earlier than when they should really debut. It's more "dartboard" than it used to be, but I guess they don't want to be stuck indefinitely with recurrent tracks anymore (like with Dynamite and Party Rock Anthem at 65+ and 70+ weeks each)

28 30 (25) Katy Perry - Roar 30 29 (11) Sara Bareilles - Brave Audio deja vu. As often as those two songs have been played back-to-back on the Hot AC version of AT40, Ryan never has mentioned the similarities between the two songs on the show.

Not much excitement on the chart. My station played Timber again less than a minute after it ended on the show. Ryan interviewed Shakira, and also Kid Ink and they kept calling each other "man". Show Me didn't grab me and it sounds derivative. I think he used to pronounce Zendaya more like Zen"dy"a, but now it's like the word day. Here's an old instrumental about animals done by another Martin: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nnq2Z2Iu9S4
