The Mary J version of "F For You" would be a better option, but I'm all for this smashing at every format.

This doesn't fit Urban or Urban AC at all.....don't know what they're thinking Black people like house music....and many of them do so I'm not shocked. Plus his voice is very soulful.

It has been getting airplay on KJLH Los Angeles for the last couple of months They can request the song on KJLH's request list from mediabase. www.mediabase.com/mmrweb/7/stationplaylistrequest.asp?c_let=KJLH-FM

When I first heard this I honestly thought this was some NY Queen singing a song for the NY Club Scene. I didn't realize it was someone trying to become a legitimate pop star.

I can see this fitting in on an Urban AC playlist. A lot of its cues are from the Soul and R&B music that the UAC audiences grew up with.
Contemporary Urban much less so though, so it'll be interesting to see how far this can progress.

Top 10 at urban. This is one of the most bizarre and unexpected top 10 records at the format in years, IMO. Especially when you take into account that 95% of the songs that make up the chart are garbage.

Agreed. This style of song makes sense for the urban format of the 80s/early 90s but seems so out of place now among all the godawful disposable ratchet rap hits. Not complaining though.

Up 11-9 on R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay this week. It's Sam Smith's 2nd top 10 hit, since "Stay With Me" also peaked at #10 for a week.

Just heard this on my local Urban for the first time.....right between "Rack City" and "No Flex Zone".....super awkward.
The remix with Rico Love would be a much better fit on this format.

This is my favorite remix...DJ Premier did his thing and turned this into a sexual, get freaky song!

I really am shocked at how well this is doing at Urban. #1 doesn't seem like a far reach if it keeps going like it is... though I only see this peaking at the 4-6 range.
