• Guessing that The Neighbourhood will be the week's Biggest Dropper, with that 14-point plunge.
• "Replay", indeed - this is the fourth week in a row at #24 for Zendaya.
• When's the last time the 2 For 1 was done outside of the Top 10? If memory serves, it's definitely been a while. But couldn't they have picked a different song/artist to do that with than "Thrift Shop", which has already been used as a 2 For 1?
• And as if we didn't get enough Thrift Shopping, iHeartRadio is now playing a live version between show segments (after #14).
• Ryan played a snippet of Mariah Carey's new single, "You're Mine (Eternal)".
• As "Drunk in Love" was simply a Breakout, guessing that means the Subway Fresh Buzz Song is somewhere in Hour 1. **checks website** Based on the choices, with the other two charting, it's gotta be... "Pumpin Blood"? Really?
• Overstated by now, but yeah they really need to get it together with their iHeartRadio channel. On the replay, they played 40-38, commercials, a random song, and then...#30's starting. Great... EDIT: And now it appears that the rest of the first hour has been skipped altogether. Greater...

As I joined this with what turned out to be #30 in progress, this'll be slightly out-of-order. So droppers, obviously, will have to wait until I'm able to hear 40-31 and figure out what they are. Guessing at least one of them is going to be "Blurred Lines", though...

Looks like how most stations presented the 1979 AT40 Premiere put out last weekend; with the first hour optional, they just jumped in at the start of the second.

I guess they start now in the 12:00 hour on Wednesdays? (i.e. the dead center of the week.) That does raise the possibility that the show could be altered before most stations play it on Saturday or Sunday. I don't suspect they'd change the chart, but if some major music event happened later in the week they could have Ryan say something about it and include that in the weekend broadcasts.

The AT40 channel on iHeartRadio has been odd lately. They usually start the new show on Wednesday afternoons now. But they often leave out segments, repeat segments or have segments from the previous week's show. It usually takes me three times through to hear the whole show.

That's a good point...if memory serves, one big example of a past event that would fit this exactly is Michael Jackson's death in 2009, since that happened on a Thursday.

Actually, that is consistent/comparable with the overall Mediabase chart, on which it fell 21-34. (Linked the exact chart that this would compare with.)

Heh, I won't necessarily be able to catch it right on Wednesdays every week. I'll be glad to when I can, otherwise...if nothing else, I suspect someone else will pick it up on a given week. :)

With "Blurred Lines" gone, that makes "Holy Grail" the oldest song on the chart at 31 weeks. If that falls off next week, "Sweater Weather" will be the oldest at a mere 28 weeks. I really hope the chart is starting to speed up.

No kidding. It's STILL in the top 20 WITH Recurrents and the closest song that going to knock it out is "Replay", and that gets extremely bipolar spin gains.

Pitbull and Big Sean weren't played on the versions heard today. Probably because it's the same audio for the Hot AC version.

Anyway, this was a good week even only with two debuts.

Better late than never. Beyonce and Jay-Z used to be Crazy In Love and now they are Drunk In Love.
Ryan interviewed Mariah who got badly hurt in a fall: shoulder, ribs, fingers.
Lots of command songs including bunched up at 15 - 12, and 10, 9, 8. Good breakout placement
in the short 07, 06 segment. Lady Gaga seems to be not as popular this time around. Good show.
