I just realised, isn't this the first time in a while that we have multiple multi format (Pop/HAC/Rhythmic/Urban/Urban AC) hits rising at the same time? ("Happy", "Drunk In Love", "All Of Me" & "The Man") Perhaps this is the start of a turning point for R&B on Pop/HAC. :)

I read over at UK Mix that Mariah actually gained 1 million AI. how can that be if she actually lost it. I know today is the 8th day but I'm not understanding. Her update today is (-1.418) because she gain 1.112 and lose 2.53 They are probably referring to the airplay only for today |

It's a nice inoffensive song, but it does nothing for me and would not want to hear it more than once a month.

("Happy", "Drunk In Love", "All Of Me" & "The Man") Perhaps this is the start of a turning point for R&B on Pop/HAC. :) It's amazing the turnaround. I remember in 2012 when Nicki Minaj was releasing songs like Starships (a song that had NO appeal to urban radio whatsoever), and Beez in the Trap (a song that has NO appeal to pop radio whatsoever). She was going to desperate measures not to release the same song to pop and urban back then. Now crossover hits have come back, and people are releasing songs that can appeal to multiple formats again (I think this is helped by pop radio becoming more open to rhythmic/urban music, thanks to Thrift Shop, etc.). There's even been songs getting played on both triple A and urban (Happy, The Man, Royals, Get Lucky, and maybe Team soon), which is something I never expected to see lol. In the whole of 2012, the only top 10 hits on the Hot 100 that even got top 50 on urban were: Justin Bieber - Boyfriend Rihanna - Where Have You Been Rihanna - Diamonds T-Pain/Lily Allen/Wiz Khalifa - 5 O'Clock But in 2013 there were loads. Suit & Tie was the first song that went top 10 on both pop and urban in ages, and Thrift Shop was the first hip hop song to do well on pop radio in ages. I think it's better now that artists don't have to follow a particular formula to get airplay on pop radio. It was so annoying when all the pop hits sounded the same imo. |

Hopefully,for the first time in a while,when Rihanna drops her first single (and her followup singles too) she doesn't have to have one for urban one for CHR.

G.U.Y is rumoured. Alien was apparently confirmed but we've heard literally nothing to that effect. One or two stations are randomly playing Now That I Found You but not nearly enough to have any kind of sway.
