Yeah, that songs sounds blissful. Never been a fan of her albums, but A. Keys always delivers a strong handful of single-worthy material.

The video for "It's On Again" was filmed in LA.

I love "It's On Again." It's better than all of the singles from her last album, IMO.

I like it. More lively than the vast majority of her last album, which is a welcome change of pace. Doesn't come close to "Fire We Make" for me though.

There's a radio edit with a piano intro. I love this sound for her. Hopefully if this is a hit, it can launch her album for a September release.

Lol...she just doesn't want to let go of that self help/empowering book she has been chewing on for 4 years now....does she?
Although the song is obviously great, they should've come a bit harder than this. Pharrel/Kendrick & Alicia...... Should've been epic...yet it is just great.
Hopefully it's a huge radio hit for her.

I have learned to stop focusing on her lyrics at this point. As long as she brings it sound wise and vocals, I'm happy. Even though these lyrics are cheese, she sings them melodically great. Her vocal style is very "Listen to Your Heart" and I will take medicore lyrics over screeching vocals any day.

Amen. Can't argue with that. The fact that her vocals carry this song makes me happy.
She still my girl though. Rooting for "It's on Again" to pave the way for her on Top 40 radio.

The only drawback with Alicia Keys album is usually the songs I love are released as singles and the album is 30-40% filler but that filler is still better than whats on most albums out here. I'd love to get a NY State of Mind or Quiet Storm sound that only a NYC bitch can drop.

Video for "It's On Again"
The song has grown on me a bit. It's been C-listed by BBC Radio 1 and A-listed by BBC Radio 2 in the UK this week, so I think it might be a moderate hit here. :)

I really hope she doesn't do the fake rasta thing on her album. Just get that out of your system on these soundtrack cuts please.

It has been so long since she parted with Jeff. Hopefully, this new move is good for her. Ready for new music now, but I can't wait until next year. I don't want a holiday release anymore.

What's the problem with a holiday release?

I was tweeting with Bill Werde and a Alicia fan last night.
I said "Guy doesn't promote music. His focus is touring. Prepare for no hits."

What's the problem with a holiday release? She has done them enough. She needs a summer release like her debut era because I think anytime she release during that time frame, her album gets lost in the shuffle for award season. Her label knows she can sell during the holiday season, but her management does not keep the momentum up into the next year with the singles. I rather she does a summer or spring release which would force her management/label to come up with a plan for singles.

I said "Guy doesn't promote music. His focus is touring. Prepare for no hits." Well that's not shocking because from the description that Alicia gave about the new album, she wants to do a cohesive body of work. She was explaining that the focus on an album isn't the same and she wants to go back to making an album so I don't expect "hits" with that thought.
