- Remember last week when Katy Perry almost bookended this chart? Somebody at AT40 must've seen last week's thread (and her more recent non-charting hit got played as an extra to boot).
- After no sign of Justin Timberlake last week, he resurfaces as one of the optional extras.
- Last week's Fresh Buzz song by John Legend debuted this week while the prior week's Fresh Buzz song by NONONO is relegated to "On The Verge" for the second straight week.
- Off-topic here but Seacrest mentions the name of Gwen Stefani's baby and notes that his middle names were the maiden names of Stefani's and Gavin Rossdale's mothers (makes me wonder if Stefani really wanted a baby girl with this likely being her last child at age 44). Ryan did note that one of the middle names wasn't named after David Bowie (the maiden name of the maternal grandmother).
- Somebody at AT40 must really like "Burn". Two straight weeks at #2 after a #3 peak on the original Mediabase charts.

Really happy to see Paramore as a breakout.

And while "Roar" and "Dark Horse" start and end the countdown, they also stick in the middle "Unconditionally", which quickly came and went in between them. Of other extras, "Imma Be" is included a week after it was cited as the chart hit with the title repeated most often; one of Rihanna's lesser hits gets another spin; and Austin Mahone is back (with Pitbull's help, one of many such artists lately) with a song that I bet will be repeated at least once on here before charting (remember last year's "What About Love" overkill?)

Good to see John Legend back on the chart, though the two droppers were among my recent favorites. John Newman scores a "jackpot", and Ryan notes the 17K+ weekly spin totals of Katy Perry's last two #1's. (This was aired on AT40.com starting around noon today, though I didn't hear all of it; at the same time last week they reran the preceding week's show.)

For accuracy sake, "Ain't It Fun" is the buzz song, not a breakout.

In terms of how quickly that gets a song into the countdown, that actually means diddly. There have been Buzz songs that went on to spend two weeks On The Verge afterwards, and Buzz songs that debuted in the countdown the following week. Same story with regular ol' Breakout songs. :)

It's somewhat interesting to keep track of which song is the Buzz song from week to week, but in terms of "new song" status, the two are basically interchangeable.

The only AT40 countdown I catch these days is bits of classic ones from the 70s/80s. :)

Enjoyable show again. I think Ryan is underrated as the host. Surprised that Keep Me Crazy dropped off
so quickly. Ryan talked to Pharrell who had predicted Miley's rising star a couple of years ago, and seems
very impressed by her. "Only" 5 songs in the bottom 20 with more than 20 weeks on. Ryan mentioned the two
Z's coming up: Zedd and Zendaya.
Speaking of repetitions in Imma Be, I didn't count but they sure say "happy" a lot in Happy.

I counted 60 for "Happy", including the background "happy" echoes.

I guess the total for "Happy" would be higher with the back vocals then.
