- Speaking of two straight weeks, this is the second straight week the Black Eyed Peas have one of the optional extras
- As far as this week's Fresh Buzz Song, all I've got to say is Gag Me With a Spoon!
- Speaking of, it may not be long before we have songs from Kesha sans dollar sign in her name if Seacrest is to be believed as her rehab stint ends.

I tried to listen to this at noon online today and write it down as it played, but they started out by replaying part of last week's countdown. Eventually they switched to the right one; I ultimately heard the top 15 or so.

11 extras is quite a lot, though I'd prefer that to more talk not necessarily related to the countdown; three of the hours have 13 songs each, reminiscient of a 1970-78 three hour AT40. Most of the past hits played are from currently charting acts, except for a Fall Out Boy song that just fell out (no pun intended) a few weeks ago. Two Jason Derulo extras in addition to a current hit feels redundant, but at least there was some creativity in some of the other extras with a Shakira song from over a decade ago and a Pharrell Williams 2 for 1 that uses a featured appearance on a Snoop Dogg song from nine years ago instead of the more recent and obvious choices "Blurred Lines" or "Get Lucky".

One thing I fail to note on. Avicii is at #20 and #18 for the second straight week but his songs swap positions.

I’m surprised to see “White Walls” still hanging on. I thought, for sure, it would be a goner, this week. Lots of extras, too. Ryan must’ve been busy with something else that he had to keep the yapping to a minimum.

Leading into #1, Ryan mentioned that with the ascendancy of “Dark Horse”, Katy Perry now ties Rihanna as the two artists with the most #1s, so far, this century. Each, currently, has 11:

On the other end of the spectrum, there's "Turn Down For What", which still has yet to reach the overall Top 40, by-passing Breakout Land entirely and debuting straight in the countdown.

I believe Ke$ha is dropping the dollar sign in her name. When Ryan mentioned it, I remember my local CHR radio station DJ saying that as well.

For the record, AT40 Hot AC played "Get Lucky" with "Happy" for the Two for One this week.

I liked all the extra music this week. Ryan's prediction came true and now there are 4 17-year olds on the
countdown this week: Zendaya, Austin Mahone, Martin Garrix, and Lorde. Last week, he said that they may
have to open an AT 40 high school, or something like that. I teach math at a university, and when it
was popular Drop It Like It's Hot went off on one of my student's phones at my office. I pretended not to
know what it was and said "Drop It Like It's Hot?" as if I were trying to understand those words. The girl
said yes, and I said "By Snoop Dogg?", at which point she went screaming out of my office, saying that those
words should not be coming out of her professor's mouth.
